Thank you to all the financial services experts that have posted. Please keep in mind that this is a poll, not a disection of Paypals business practices or policies.
At no point was there any mention of anyone being forced to use Paypal, and if any of those waving red flags about the policies, you should read the agreement you made with your bank, that'll really get you scared.

What I said, that agreement is nothing unusual, just a bank covering himself
Edit: Back to the topic, gaile, may we get maestro?

I voted "I would use it for this", but reading through the EULA, I need to change my vote. So I think that the EULA is an important issue.
If my bank causes problems I can go to the bank and talk to real people, and not to a support that asks for unneeded informations, like gas and electric bills.

Yeah, but you don't need to defend you're statement, because everbody has the right to have a opinion and we'll respect those. I'd say we get back to topic

Hey,
First of all I voted yes I don't have a credit card, use paypal and would use it on the GW store. Many people are too young of age and use their parents PayPal as its easier then a CC.
In my case, I don't like using credit cards as I seem to get in debt too much. So I simply setup my PayPal and use that for most of my purchases online. If guild wars supported PayPal, I can promise you I will purchase GWEN and anything else I require with it from the store otherwise im going retail.
I will also be purchasing for my family if you accept PayPal in the future.

I worry about fraud with PayPal, so the account I have has not been used except when I really really had no choice. But I don't really like the whole online store thing in the first place.
I know I'm old fashioned, but I prefer paying with cash or a check when I can...and tend to be leery when I have no option but to buy online with my credit card.
...um, since you work at Anet, could you answer a question I've been asking for a few days Mrs Grey? Did NCSoft ever fix the security issues they had with their site? Someone said they did, but you'd know for sure. I'm worried that people will be able to use my NCLive account to steal my game account from me if I use it, so I never used the online store before.

sorry my input may seem a bit late in the day, but....
From what i have read , Paypal can be a benfit for those who dont have a card, thus opens up to being able to purchase a product/service not previously available to them. The drawback is its open to some various fraudulent practices. (See a notable auctioning site and various people who wont accept paypal as payment because they have been caught in the fraudualent practice)
One thing comes to mind, its going to cost money to the provider of the service..not sure if thats going to be good for us the end user.. higher prices?
I personnaly use my card on guildwars and paypal on some other sites

- I do have several credit cards.
- I do have PayPal and have used it for hundreds of transactions (Ebay).
- I have had one bad PayPal experience in all of those, and would prefer not to use it. I generally use it when dealing with people I do not trust with my CC, because losing $20 due to PayPal's incompetence, is still better than compromising a CC.
- I would prefer to use (and do use) a CC to pay for things through an established, reputable company like NCSoft.
- I don't see the harm in allowing people who don't have CCs to use PayPal - it's a nice option. It just looks a little.. amateur.

"No I would not use PayPal"
PayPal service are not available in every country in the world. In some countries, even in EU, people can regular buy ANET product in store, but cannot purchase it through a PayPal service. I grow a certain solidarity towards people, who cannot buy things through PayPal. When the PayPal people open to all countries where gamers community appreciated and playing the Guild Wars, can buy it there, I'll change my vote. Until then it's solid rock against the PayPal.

Rash, Their not switching over to Paypal only. It'll be another option for users to pay with Via the online store.

I often use paypal, but in this case I would not use paypal because I would rather see ANET get the cash instead of paypal siphoning off fees from my credit card usage. I would expect most paypal users have credit card as well.
Keep the coins instead of giving it to the middleman paypal for usage fees.

Visa/Mastercard charge a merchant the same type of fees as PayPal would, just not usually as much (usually 1.9-2.5% per transaction).

I've used the online store in the past and will probably use it again for EN, but I'd honestly prefer paypal. I purchase everything else online via paypal, so it'd just be easier. People who say they've been scammed by paypal are usually the ones with no AV, no firewall, and who click on those scam emails spoofing paypal.

Ok fine, I'm a 14 year old kid...so sue me...but I still want to use paypal.
Probably half the reason is that I also live in canada, so I can't use my debit for some reason (international compatablity please?). Still, I see that there is no chance in heaven or hell that I'm getting a credit card before my 19th birthday, and I really want to get some PlayNC/GWonline stuff before GW2 comes out.
