Actually, quite a few(PvE) people want more grind in GW. They show up in the level cap threads, and want the level raised to whatever. If that(grinding XP for a higher level) is not grind, I don't know what is. Unfortunately, ANet has agreed. We now have titles, and GW2 will have a much higher cap than 20.

On topic, I don't see any evidence that ANet has abandoned GW1, and quite alot of evidence to the contrary. I still see regular updates, events, bug fixes, etc.

Why make major improvements to something that's going to be obsolete in a few years?

It would have been a better game if it had a monthly fee.

Monthly payments make it so the devs are always working to keep their cash flow per month. ANet, not only not having to do that, doesn't give a damn period about Guild Wars, even before GW2 was announced.

IMO, ANet is a bad company, there have been things asked since the beginning of GW, and they still haven't fixed it.

They better get their game up, or else GW2 will be their last game. They already have a bad rep of short-term fixures w/o actually solving it for good.

Look how long the report feature took, or the leavers in RA, or the spamming of trades.

lol and lol ...

i will not pay to play GW

Look around you. You've been playing the same game for nearly 3 years and they're catering to you by making a whole new game with a whole new engine.

Now I don't know about you, but a game like Guild Wars doesn't really hold up for 3 years. It wasn't DESIGNED to. In fact, it was designed to be a pick up and play game while being easy to seperate yourself from.

Then again, you've not really presented any real arguments other than "I'm entitled to more than what I paid for." You're not.

You won't like hearing it, but...

This is what happens without a monthly fee.

So paying a monthly fee leads to every crappy, nonsensical, myopic and useless player suggestion being implemented, STAT? Awesome!

GW is a simple deal: buy the campaign, play the campaign forever with no extra charge. Want more content? Buy more campaigns/expansions. Anet has not only upheld its end, it even went beyond by offering more than that, things like extra item skins, Furnace, events,...

Anet has the BEST record with game decisions I've ever seen. Even the few decisions I don't agree with at least make sense. The top company, as far as I'm concerned.

However, some changes simply cannot be implemented - like the auction house - at least not without redesigning the client, which is why they're working on GW2). So the wise man realizes that this simply is not coming.

A monthly fee, however, would result in actual content between the 2+ years from now until GW2 due to the extra revenue.

You get what you [don't] pay for.

If you had a computer you had that was going great for the past but was a bti outdated, you only had a certain amount of funds(time),
would you
A) Spend a nice fraction of your money (time) on the old computer, buying parts etc, when you know you'll be getting a new computer in 2 years OR
B) Save the vast majority of your money so you can get a better superior computer then the one you planned to get and only run house cleaning on your current comp? (keep in mind that your current computer can rival current computers on the market)

i'd pick b, although it'd be nice to have the extra upgrades there not really nessicary.
+ everything your requesting coudl very well be in GW2 (the new computer)

QFT. I still don't get why people complain about this game. Just move on to something else while you wait for GW2 to come out. It's easy! Stop worrying about GW2 being terrible. The beta hasn't even started yet...

I have played GW for almost 3 years and unlike many who post here, I play at a slow rate and still have much to do. I figure it has cost about $.16 US per day to play, so I figure ANET owes me nothing. Sure there are things that I want in the game that aren't, and some things I would have like changed, but I feel I am owed nothing. I will continue to enjoy GW until GW2 arrives and if I don't I will find something else.

What in the world is your deal? You have a vast feeling of entitlement and inflated self-worth.

A.net works their butts off to create a game, and you are just whinning that its not EXACTLY like you want it to be. Game coding is not that easy and requires a very high understanding of math and engineering. When they say "they are working on it" they legitamately are. It's not like there is just a button they can push though to change the server's code instantly and do it bug free.
Well said! Without Anet there would be no guild wars period! You should be thankful that its subscription free, I mean whats the point in having to pay for the game, pay for your internet connection then get more money sucked out your account just so you can actually play the dam thing you have already payed for! Guild Wars is a great game, GW2 will be even better (in time((bugs to fix and what not)) when its released! thats my opinion!) they always try to come up with new ways to keep us interested like all the different events we get to attend! thats all I'll say for now! i'll be back! ^_^
