Good.
I'm tired of playing ANET's screwed-up version of the game. I'd love to see it splinter into customized worlds so that I could play free of PvP-inflicted nerfs and with mods to expand the PvE world I've trounced all over as much as I can trounce.
Really, at this point in the game, it has nothing left to offer the group as a whole anyway. It would be nice if every little group of bickering nutters could go their own ways and play the game how they want to for awhile.

Honestly I would probably make only my characters invincible and then go do pvp with them and solo whole teams on my own and laugh as I read people complaining in the local chat.

well, to be perfectly honest, I would so what a friend of mine did on a private WoW server. Made everything uber!
One kill to max lvl, everything drops ectos every time, titles be un-grind based...
nah but really I think this would never happen. Maybe they should make private servers like wow for fun tho?

Along with that, porting it to linux/mac would be great. In addition, anet could potentially use the port to make it easy for them to port gw2 to linux/mac, since from what I've read it will use a modified gw1 engine. That way, anet could satisfy the non-windows player base without having to put in as much time and money, so it could actually be profitable for them.

It would become Open Battle.Net like Diablo 2 was. That was a waste of time. God Mode always becomes boring.

Yes, because that's what happened with most linux distros. Open source, totally insecure.
Oh wait.
:P

blakecraw, gw runs fine in Wine (ubuntu gutsy). There's a fair few guides out there for setup.

Community added content could certainly help the game, but going full open source probably isn't such a wise idea. Judging by the number of client-side hacks found just by packet-sniffing, having full access to source would almost certainly reveal some high-profile potential exploits. It's a lot of work and risk on aNet's side for no real gain.

- Fix Ctrl and Alt behavior to hide the opposite names, so items and allies are never show when you only hit Ctrl and enemies are never show when you only hit alt.
Ho, wow. Please,do so.
I'd add a minion bar also.

yep, that's how I play, but it's still nicer to have a native client, and who knows how long it'll take after release to get gw2 to run

Is this in response to EVE going open source on accident?
If it did....w/e. GW1 is near the end of its life expectancy with GW2 beta before the end of the year and such. I wouldn't care....unless my account somehow got hacked.

Bad is better than nothing. In its current state, GW is still fun for some people, even if not me. (Well, it is a tiny little bit, but only for PvP.)
