A word of warning before trading gold among accounts
Two people I know made arrangements to trade pre gold for post gold. Player A is taking his character to post, player B is staying in pre. They prearrange the trade. Player A gives player B the pre gold, then in post player B, on different character, gives player A post gold. Apparently this raised a flag with Anet, or whomever, both were temp banned and told the involved gold will be removed.
They are currently involved with support hoping to resolve this. Just a word of warning.

Some people in my guild encountered this as well.
One friend has a "perma-pre" who stays in Pre-Searing permanently with his main character. He wants as much money as possible so he can buy all the other perma-pre's minipets. He trades his Post-Searing gold to guildies who give them their Pre-Searing gold before leaving the tutorial world to continue with the rest of the game.
I don't think this should be a problem, but I can understand why ANet would flag people for trading large amounts of gold to stop real-money traders.

Some Anet employees have permapres themselves. I think if you just contact them and tell them what was going on, they'd unban.

I think Anet's taking it a little too far, speculating every transaction like that. Sure, it's great that they have initiative to stop illegal transactions & such, but if they take down the wrong people and punish them imprudently, they'll be driving away their customers and force them to either purchase another account or move on to another MMO. Not to mention the player's loss of in-game funds is unjust and cruel on Anet's part. I have many perma-pre characters as well, and now I have a growing fear of trading post for pre due to this new insight.
/signed for enstating in the EULA that Anet employees shall not tap player's transactions without a warranted cause.

This shows one thing, A-net never learns. Remember back in December, same thing happened. Seem to me the safest thing to do is NEVER ONE SIDE TRADE, always trade something back, even if it is junk, odds are the guy working at support wont' know it is junk, remmeber it NCsoft support, not Anet. Probablity the guy who banned you knows nothing about the game, or what is pre or post. Just get a automated flag saying alot of gold was tranfered, and he rubber stamped it, then added it to the total so Anet can report to us saying look at all these account we banned and gold we removed, we are anti RMT.

After having my friend have one account temp banned, and another perm banned last december for trading 300k post for a kuunavang pre, and take a week is have the matter resolved, I have little faith in A-net support. Heck, he asked what was traded, and if it was a one sided trade, and they hide behind privacy of the other account BS, even though that info would not lead to any account information. If you got banned, would you like to know the action that got you banned, not a blanket responce of "you traded with a known gold seller" response he got. Guild Wars is a good game, but its support sucks.

This simply shows that Anet is PAYING ATTENTION.
What you see is a negative, i see as a positive.
Flags are raised because one sided gold trades for large amounts of gold is VERY suspicious.
False positives will ALWAYS happen. No system is perfect.

less whining from the community would be nice considering the drastic reduction in bots and gold sellers we have seen over the last n months. no system is perfect, so the true measure should be if anet recognize the mistake and correct the situation (which i believe they have been doing consistently from the posts i have seen).

So what your saying is I can't transfer gold between my char without the possabilty of a ban? If that's the case then they need to up the amount you can store in storage.

Yes, but imagine you were the innocent victim. You would not be talking like that anymore, would you? Especially if it takes 1 week or so to resolve the problem (if it will be resolved at all).
I think the system has to be tuned a little bit more, so that bots and gold-sellers will be banned, but innocent players are unharmed.

But it also shows that they are banning before looking at the surrounding chat logs that (presumably) would have shown them that the transaction was an innocent one. And that's just sloppy. No system is perfect, but this one is unnecessarily bad.

the system is automated, can't you see that?
Anet has done this before. They ban based on specific situations (like very large one sided transactions), then comb through for the false positives.
If you recall the duping bans, there were those who reported it also got banned, simply because the system does a blanket ban, and they were later unbanned.
Its actually a more efficient system than combing through every possible ban, since thats a waste of time. The ones who fight to be unbanned will get the attention, and the ones who don't stay banned.

bahaha this reminds me of a day at vent.
Some guy came on like ''I made $500 off selling my gw gold and I found a method that I won't get banned when I sell to the shops!
I just tell them to put a bone in the trade section and we're both safe"
I was whispering my friend ingame ''hahahha ban to come for this guy? ^^"
2 Minutes later this guy said ''Shit I got disconnected'' and he also got 045'd :--DDDDDD
Oh yes, allow post->pre trading..
