I remember that at one time, Balth's spirit give you back 1 energy per point in smiting you had. That was the coolest skill break and fixing it was probably the biggest nerf.

"steamrolling" through pve areas is easily done now using many many different means, the most imba springing to mind is Ursan of course.
the nerf if you look at if from purely a pve perspective makes NO sense in the current state of the game.

umm yeah, not really sure about mm being nerfed out of pvp. the only build to have used minions without a cap in pvp was minion factory, where 2 ppl sacced themselves and 2 rezmers would rez them over and over to have exploitable corpses. the build was nothing compared to the other pvp builds (quick shot shout spd ranger spike, iway, spirit spam) at the time because it was so fragile and wasnt lethal enough so im not sure if the mm cap was really pvp induced.
iway, spirit spam = eoe no minions
any spike team, remove dark bond, spike mm out.

AB MM rampages was a real issue. Agreed counters exist(ed) but unfortunately not the required coordination to go with it.
same old, same old really.

ANets problems all stem from listening too much to the players. For real.
Players don't care about balance or the enjoyment of others, they care about their own personal experience. Listening to the players is a bad idea.
An even worse idea is listening to "top players", be they the best PvP players or the wealthiest PvE farmers, because they're the very most myopically self-interested players of the entire playerbase.
Trust your goddamn game designers, ignore the bitch & whine from the players, and the game will be fine.

Their reasoning was probably to finally stop instagib assassin combos, but at that stage they were already considerably weaker.

gale and blackout.
splinters en EW were one of the nerfs i was happy with, now they need to nerf splinter even harder and fix npc placement at VoD.
i also like the incomming nerf alot.
