Here is the trick. Avoiding KD's, using Ram+Harden Shell at the right moments, and luck. Even X Ekelon X would score <450k if he got bad boxes.
They score high when they get lucky and can Echo-> Super Rollerbeetle twice.
I know cause I placed quarterly with my friends in the Dragon Festival 2007...shame I didn't this Canthan New Year

I've been racing for about 2 days straight now...and my best time was 459k.
I see people on the High score list with over 480+ and im just wondering wtf.
I really do believe that this race involves a high level of skill and experience but honesty, 480k+? How? I'm just wondering wtf A.Net is doing to see if these people are really legit. If you ask me, i think there IS some kind of map exploit, or box exploit, because sometimes i run throught a box, it falls apart and somehow i manage to get no power. I think the maps are glitchy in general and that people with some kind of box exploit or wall exploit are on the high score list. im just confused at how people are getting these scores....im not Q.Q or anything but you have to admit, it's strange.

its not know yet and i thinkg this question goes for another post ;x.
pd: there is a trick at the begining of the course to start with the rrppm at the middle you gotta put at a certain angle and it gives you a pretty good boost

Ive gotten plenty of 450+ scores this weekend.
You have to be very lucky with super rollerbeetle and echo + no knockdowns to get higher than that.

my best was 468k with echo+super and 1 kd
so u need no kd + 3 super to make ~480k

Is it even possible to get no kd's unless you synch-enter with friends?
In an average race I'll get shot down/zapped 3-4 times, my record was 8 times in one race. I don't think I ever completed a race without being kd'd at least once.

Of course it's possible. Here's a few examples:- Sometimes other players will volunteer to have a "Clean race" (usually other people looking to get a top-100). If you get enough of these in a match, it's fairly likely you won't get KDed after the first checkpoint.
- If you can break away from the "Herd" quickly, most players won't bother you. Once your off radar range, they can't even hit you anymore.
- Smart use of shields will cover the mostly likely times to get hit (right as the herd picks up a new box, or in the tight corners when they can come back into radar range).
- Starting as certain colors (blue is the best in my experience) makes it much easier to avoid an early KD before the first checkpoint.
- Don't provoke people by unnecessarily knocking them down (at least, that would work against me ).
- Sometimes, even when all else fails, you just get really really lucky.

every1 has their own methods, all which work and I know for a fact that each is different. although sayuris seems to work the best. theres no magic trick that top racers use.

nope, 478k+ easy with echo and super - done it myself several times, have yet to get very lucky and nail a box that i would need to get 480+

martin has said this before in another post ... sycning with friends is a waste of time and ZERO top players do it
getting a top score involves high rrpm throughout the match - thus with the majoirty of top players strategies, we are out of range of attacks after about 50 seconds. Similarily good players know when to shell to avoid being attacked in the beginning of the race where "noobs" tend to reign terror on anything near them

True that, happened a few times to me. You get like a 45-50% rrpm. I usually get it but not at the right time as i don't know how exactly to do it, so i just head off with the normal rrpm.

Yeah, even though I've raced many many times I still don't understand how to control this superstart. I've been able to start this way only about two or three times in all of my races, and those definitely weren't among my best times.

Yeah, well as i said i've never actually got to start with it, but if i remember correctly it's like hugging the right corner of the cage while going forward or something. Tried to do it intentionally a few times and i just couldn't.
But yes i see your point about it not giving you a high score, i was just elaborating about the fast start ^^

I knew it!!!
It would be easier to believe they were using exploits as it would justify there score and make people feel better, chances are tho that they have practiced over and over again and learned the track.
while others have raced to win they raced to explore, see what areas yeild the best rrpm return and have learned the track.
i have'nt had the pleasure to see any of the top 100 in action yet, and the best score i've attained so far was x51, w/e the 1st digit is, so to me people with scores on this forum of x70 seem high, sho9uld i point my finger and shout exploiter?, since i dont know facts i should say not, but speculation keeps people on there feet.
if anything this thread has inspired me to rollerbeetle, wont get far but i can try:P

Small changes in what you do lead to BIG changes in results.
This is the fact that most players don't understand. Change 3-4 things that you're doing, and a 460 run with the combo becomes a 480. They're subtle things, but they're essential.
The spiral bridge after the fifth checkpoint is the graveyard of good times. If you don't carry sufficient momentum through that segment, you're going to post a poor time. If you use too many speed buffs through that segment, you'll lose huge time on the beach.
Sorting this problem out is the key to posting good times.
A lag-free connection also helps. I've been posting a lot of 473-476 times due to a particularly laggy connection this weekend. It doesn't take much; if you're pinging 300, it'll take a few seconds off your times no matter what you do.
