Wow nice analogy. You hit the bullseye.

I prettyu much win EVERY time I don't have PvE scrub camping me...
However, getting a top-score is impossible for me, seeing how I, on average, get a SRB every 3-4 matches

Still hard to believe that they can all get lucky that many times, meanwhile the other 90% of us can't barely get any super beetles.

There are two people with a 2-3 top 100 scores that I've raced with and I know are just good. Definately better than me, and I'm pretty good. Granted my ping is generally under 200ms helps, but I win 3 of 5 matches, maybe if i play hard and right. But my best time is 464k with 1 echo+super and another super right at the end. However i got knocked down in the begining which really slowed me down.
1 KD can mess up a run. People who are poor sports can mess up runs. I've had several people just kd when im leading and far in the lead to just because im the leader.
To get 480k with 1 SRB is godly. No KDs, no distruptions, and Minimal lag, i think i could post a 460k time MAYBE with 1 SRB. I don't see how you can keep up the speed in certain segements to get a 480k time.
There are four main slow segments: in the cave, in the water/leading up to the big 90degree turn hill, the spiral bridge right after the hill, and then the last uphill stretch before the finish line.
With luck, you can hit echo+SRB at the cave and have 90% rrpm from the cave all the way past the 90degree hill. This is enough to easily get you 460k+ with no KDs. However, with the z-axis fail and who the hell knows how it calculates its rrpm/momentum gauge for speed, the abilty to keep speed up through the remain sections with just 1 boost and 1 ram is just hard.
I know that from the spiral bridge on is my weakest part of the races, but not matter what i try, i cant find a way to keep up speed through there.
But this isnt a how to post the best time thread.
The point is to have 2 people post over 50% of the best times is just wrong Putting aside the fact that multiples in the top 100 shouldn't be allow, there has to be more than just Luck going on here. Skill in this can only get you so far, and i'm thinking there has to be a few tricks in the game, that everyone else doesn't know about. Not cheats, but tricks. Ie (sometimes in the starting booth you can get more than 25% rrpm by strafing side to side really fast. or if you go diagonal down a hill you can gain rrpm faster) However i can't get these consistently to work.
But still it can't be jsut luck for two guys to run half of the top 100.

I don't know, It's random I think, the speed buff and boost. Sometimes, i go f*ing slower going downhill?!

Yea the mometum/rrpm thing is sketch sometimes. I've noticed that to you can lose speed going downhill. I dunno it doesn't really make sense sometimes. I like when you put up ram to get up the hill and as your going down hill your rrpms drop from almost full to less than 40% randomly, as if your just going to stop going that fast downhill!?
But hey, i've given up for tonight. I've played like 100+ races got like 300 tokens and my highest score was 464k with 3 SRB (1 echo'd) with two KD's cuz some guy was a poor sport and KD me twice when i came back in range at the last corner after the spiral bridge.

I'm guessing they've found a map flaw and are exploiting the hell out of it. If so the secret will spread, and by this time tomorrow half the players will be using it.

exactly! i got 3 srb cause 1 was echoed. and I was in the 450's. I'm so sick of this honestly. I been playing for 8 hours literally and after probably somewhere past 50 wins i'm so so sick of this. There needs to be a different system.
i'm giving up for tonight.
i'm not sure but I think there might be a way to skip a wall... i could have sworn i seen this a few times but because you're not exactly watching that exact spot becuae you are racing i'm not too sure.
I forget but it's one of those hairpin turns that turn and go downhill afterwards, i know the second one has a box at the bottom and leads to the bridges. But heres what I think I seen before.
somehow I think i seen people from the top of the pathway before it hits the turn somehow get to the bottom of the turn without actually taking the turn, they somehow just jump to the bottom, going down to the next level and continuing on.
Now one time I was in first and I was hitting the turn to go downhill suddenly the light blue racer is at the bottom and its like...

There's something broken in this system. I want to know where ANet is failing so I can cry at them more.

Actually, observer mode would be a good idea. You could actually get to see how they are doing it/ how many supers they get and give a bit of an even playing field to people to try and learn to get better.

such a shitty way to celebrate the canthan new year. you guys are complaining about this stuff like it's important. yeah, so some one person is taking all the spots or whatever, and it seems to me like that's something Anet could have looked out for, but you guys are crying about something really stupid. i like having my GW golds too, but you guys are fixating on a stupid issue as if it were holding you back from something so great. find another way to make your gold. don't lose sleep over some stupid minipets that are ugly, but valuable. sheesh. give gw a break and breathe just a little.
