I'm sure they will have an event this weekend. They always have since weekend events started a long time ago. They are not gonna break that long established pattern out of the blue for no reason.

If i recall correctly they posted last weeks event about 1830 pm GMT on Thursday, also i didnt say there was a specific time that they announce events, I said that they usually do around about Wednesday to Thursday evening. Still the skills havent reverted and there has been no update that I know of.

So there might not be any event in which case, lag free weekend for all possibly

It would break a long standing tradition of weekend events in GW on a weekly basis etc.....

It's the 3rd anniversary. The last cash official tourney is done, there won't be any more significant balances, prophecies was "completed", and the next batch of GW2 previews/hype are likely around the corner. A good time to wind down Guild Wars supports like weekly events, wouldn't you say?

I seriously doubt they will wind down GW and let the events thing dissapate, firstly events give people who have played the game for a while use that extra bit of content to continue playing GW. I know many people including myself who have been struggling of late to do something usefull in the game.

The events at least pull me back and give me some slight fresh outlook on the game, this isint just my opinion but most of the people i know through the game agree at least on this point.

Would be amusing if they did something out of the ordinary for the weekend event, maybe a double drop of Crystalline Swords from certain elite areas?

I am sure the gw community would go into collective apoplexy if that should ever happened.

There will be a special event this weekend, and the details will be posted tomorrow. The reason for the delay this week was that the localization team did not get the text for the other languages in time to post today, and messages for all languages go out at the same time.

For those who can't wait until tomorrow, here is what will be happening on the weekend of May 2:

Double Faction in Hero Battles

During this event, players will receive double Balthazar faction in all Hero Battles.

Players will receive 40 Balthazar faction per point as opposed to the normal 20 faction per point in Hero Battles.

Players will receive 200 Balthazar faction for winning a Hero Battle as opposed to the normal 100 Balthazar faction for winning a Hero Battle.

Double Victory Points

During this time, players will receive double Victory Points while participating in Hero Battles. A player would normally receive one Victory Point for each win in rated battles, so they will now receive two points per rated match win for the duration of the weekend.
