Not to mention ANOTHER buyable / farmable emote.
|
Don't get me wrong, I can totally understand when people care about their favorite game and don't want it ruined. However it's mostly inappropriate because there's a certain lack of sight (besides the drama).
Most titles are farmable or buyable (Alcohol? Sweettooth? Wisdom? FFF? etc..), even Champion points could be farmed with idiot builds and you can still pay per fame (if such services still exist).
This addition is just another of those buyable title tracks, yet mostly those care that don't have the gold and visit forums frequently (the majority is NOT here). If you'd get 100 points per key, you'd have much much less complaints here.

So, this emote is really like a WWF/RAW thing it's just theatrical nothing serious just in yer face stuff for entertainment.

I think that you wanted to say "WWE/TNA", because the WWE changed their name years ago to get away from the complaints from the World Wildlife Fund. In addition, Monday Night RAW is just a show from the WWE, the other major competitor outside of the McMahon dynasty is Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, a.k.a. "TNA".
In any case, trying to compare WWE/TNA to Guild Wars is totally ridiculous. In pro-wrestling, you don't even need to be good at wrestling. If you are good at the mike and can get a lot of heat, then that's all it takes to become World Champion. Also, pro-wrestling is almost entirely about acting like a jerk and having a 'tude on purpose. It's just TV. But I guarantee that in any online game out there, acting like a jerk is not exactly the selling point of the game.
I think that it's pretty disappointing that ArenaNet decides that a new emote and title track are the best methods to inject life into a game. I wonder how many people would have seriously voted for this kind of game improvement over a random dozen suggestions mentioned in the Index Of Ideas sticky on Sardelac.

No, but I might be too drastic (besides my bad English) in expressing what I am trying to say. People are too thinskinned, they LET themselves feel humiliated in a game where the opposite person doesn't have a single effect on one's life. You have to think this through and through, maybe then you'll understand that wasting energy being angry and annoyed is wasted energy if it happens in/under such terms.
You can do that with real problems that trouble your life.

And when did I not say these title could be bought?
And the Champion title requires you to be rating 1200+.

I wouldn't stop complaining about it. It's still a stupid addition.
And yeah, those buyable title tracks don't give you some emote now do they? Maybe except Hero.

First off, no one ever got banned for ranking. I'm pretty close with several devs, and no one has ever gotten banned or lost fame (lolwtf) for ranking a corpse.

I dont know about you girls..but i feel a whole lot better!
The only way this emote could have been better, if it was a finishing move.
Impale opponent with spear, lift corpse into the air..and spike it down into the ground..."Finish Him!"
GG anet..This emote rocks..and now im Broke.
Years of Farming...down to 10k in one day.

Izzy played too much Team Fortress 2.
Taunting the enemy is a common thing there :P
At least it's nothing like in "Rune". I don't want to explain what players could do with decapitated bodies. (No it's actually nothing perverted)

Actually my POINT wasn't about the comparison as much as it is about "what is being taught/influenced" by wrestling. People especially the young are being taught that taunting is FUN, it's funny and it's FUN to WATCH others get HUMILIATED. That's what wrestling that we see on tv does. Also once again you say you don't have to even be a wrestler, you have no clue as it takes more effort and work not to get hurt or hurt someone in those bouts than it does in a real wrestling match. As I said before if you think what they do is fake, you crawl into a ring with one of them and watch them break you into pieces.
Then let's look at endzone celebrations in Pro Football spiking the ball doing boogoo dances in yer face sort of actions. And just yesterday I saw a pitcher to the choo choo chug with his fist after he struck out Dellucci whom had hit some home run off of him just a few games ago. Taunting and in yer face is just a fact of life. If you've ever been DOWN on a football field there's a lot of smack talking going on every play. I remember it well in Jr. High and High School. Taunting is part of strategy to get people to lose focus of the game.
Just today I sat on a sins face after I beat him in AB. And for the rest of the entire battle he made a beeline for me and I beat him over n over and either danced or sat on his face some more. lol See I made him lose focus of the match and we won.

Actually, what JR said is true. Someone did get temp banned for ranking Andrew Patrick's corpse in a GvG game.
It's the only case tho.

Ranking a corpse is all in good fun.
Ranking a corpse with the addition of a wall of text like "You suck you <censored> noob! Eat <censored>!" Add on a bunch of "Mom" stuff, another half-dozen swear words, Whispers with nothing but insults, even 30 minutes after the battle ended, and then it becomes an issue.
Anet isn't promoting the bad behavior. Players take care of that themselves; Rank emotes, or no rank emotes.

To all who are complaining about /zrank ...
Please, lighten up, it's just a game.
Don't participate in PvP if you can't handle the "humiliation" of being /ranked by a bunch of computer pixels :P

What I meant is more like this... If we had no sore losers complaining every time they got posthumously ranked, and if we had no sore winners giving their victims posthumous rank flashings, there would not be this problem in the first place.

Meh, do I have to make a case for every instance?
It's all the same.. /flex, /dance, /whatever.. It all boils down to arrogant little kids getting all high and mighty over an online game.

Welcome to the internet. Seriously, you need a thicker skin if you find ranking someone to be insulting. Just rank them back or zrank them back depending on which you have. Even people in AB have bambis and what not. People seem to fail to realize that gaining fame in HA was never really that hard if they actually tried hard at getting it - plenty of gimmick builds to fall back to.
