@super strokey
when was the last time you logged in?
eif you truthfully did nothing wrong then account issues could mean:
a) you were the victim of an attempted hack and they put your account on hold to minimize damage done (contact support)
b) you have performed some kind of a chargeback (contact support)
c) someone tried brute forcing your password and anet finally implemented a max amount of incorrect entries (doubtful) (contact support)
d) you were identified as a 'possible' wrongdoer and your account is on hold while they check your chat logs and trade logs etc. (contact support)
in any case contact support is the only thing to do.
sorry to hear about it :S

And I for one hope it stays that way. I cringe everytime I see an update that goes into any detail about what an exploit was, where it was, or sheds any light on how it was done. It only leads to more people fishing around to try and find new exploits in similar fashion.
There are too many players out there who get a kick out of making life difficult for Anet and the community through exploiting for whatever selfish reasons. The less info and the tighter the leash; the better.

So you like being in the dark about stuff?I would love to know if ppl are trying to get into my account and how they are trying to do so.If anet fixes the prob then theres no point they should say what was going on.
Like the cops say...Stuff happened that all you need to know.

I don't think people want all the details, justs some. Such as "Fixed an exploit that allowed players to get Post-Searing items in Pre". I would be satisfied with something like that.

Doubt it has something to do with you, since if an exploit is serious enough for anet to engage in mass-bannings you'd probably know what you did. If you don't know what you did it's probably a mistake on Anet's part just send a ticket.

Nothing like that, i just started again about a week or so ago, took like 1-2 months of except for the occasional log in. Havnt traded or anything, just sold some minis but they were all properly label as dedicated (thats not wrong is it?). Honestly i cant think of a darn thing that would cause this other than either a hack or prehaps somethign to do with this exploit (and just to be clear i have never ever used an exploit unless you count the mod to help with mapping but that was in like september)

Wonder why it is that we can't be told about this exploit, unless it's not properly fixed so can be repeated, or was something REALLY embarrassing for Anet.

Yeah, I'm expecting something like;
1) You could dupe easier and faster than before
2) You can still do the exploit with a little work, and they're trying to fix that
3) You could do like....some dev command and ban someone, anywhere, or log them out of their account and log into it to take things.

Just keep lodging support tickets. It seems if you annoy them enough they actually get around to giving you an answer.

Bug Fixes
Fixed a crash bug.
I guess Anet is trying to follow the same pattern as before?

Not at all, but we're not discussing "stuff" in this thread. I said in regards to an exploit. Yes, I want to be left in the dark about what an exploit was.
Why?.....

Because the method doesn't solve the problem and telling the public the method only gives the Dogs new bones to chase. Whatever the serious exploit was, all I need to know is that it was fixed.
In fact, by Anet keeping silent on information as to what an "account theft" exploit was, I'm even more secure. This means that those who would want to continue to do harm to the community and our accounts have nothing to go on in regards to information.
If this fix was actually in regards to accounts being hacked the only people who should have such information are the victims of such attacks. Such information should be obtain and discussed only in private through their support.
I understand what you're trying to say and believe me my curiousity bell is ringing, but there's just a lot of risk involved in releasing any sort of info on what an exploit was, especially if it involved account theft. With the recent threads popping up about hacked accounts, the less information on how it's been done, means less information for more cruel people out there to act upon.
Those looking to cause harm only need the smallest bits of information to find a starting point and we're all better off if "those" people have no idea what to look for.

Even then though I cringe. I think we all know that those who are hellbent on cheating and exploiting will look for any lead they can get. "Post-searing", "Items", "Pre-Searing"; All keywords someone can use to figure out new methods, old methods, loopholes, and ideas. When Anet let the public know about the secret DoA outpost, plenty of people went in search trying to find and figure out ways to get into other ones.
By the way, off-track for a second, I still feel the first GH exploit that allowed mapping anywhere, led to finding the DoA exploit. The methods were very similar.
In the end all I'm saying is if I get my home broken into, or it's been attempted, I don't want to let the public know how I fixed the weak point. I'll stick my security sign on my lawn to say "It's fixed" and that's it. Giving anything more gives the crooks something to look for.
I hope all this sort of clarifies why I have the position I do in regards to spilling info on exploits in update notes.

I would rather know the details of the exploit so I could take my own security into my hands because I do not trust Anet or NCSoft to do it the right way because they never have.

Thanks for reminding me. I just checked, and my post-items in pre- are still in tact, so it wasn't likely an exploit regarding post-pre stuff.

Keep in mind a.net's offices are closed now. People do need to sleep. You'll probablly have to wait until tommorow.
Edit: -Sonata- telling us what they fixed is better then leaving us to our wild speculation. Whatever happened, we will speculate and assume the worst possible scenario. Better to tell us, then to leave people nervious about their network security/the integrity of the game.
