a few days ago. So today i decided to log on and see what wonderful present i had got.
And OMG i couldn't believe it.

Everything was gone. 11 characters. 3 years worth of gameplay. 3 years worth of items. greens. golds. pets. armour. candy weapons. thousands of materials. 400K gold. my rank 6 emote.

In it's place was a level 1 warrior named "Tepo Tepo sux" It is 0 days old.
I think someone has cleaned this account out and then sold it to someone.

I actually think this is the most pissed off i've been in a long long time. Is nothing sacred anymore?

I had another of my accounts hacked a long time ago. They stole everything EXCEPT my monks 55hp farming gear and for that i was grateful as it allowed to me to keep farming and make gold.

I don't think i have it in me to start playing again. This might have just killed my Guild Wars experience forever.
I googled to see if anet can restore characters yet. Looks like a nope but then someone tells me someone they know had a character restored so i've reported it to Anet in the hope that something can be done. Even if i can only get a few characters back i'd be happy.

So yeah... someone hold me

you cant get characters back....they wont do that for anyone.
Sorry that this happened to you, but you have done the only thing we can tell you do to and that is to contact support...

If you are quitting though, I'll take that bare account off ya hands. I'll re-vamp it and it will be filled with mules for my overloaded junk

worst part is, you wont get any of it back, character or items. anet have no safety nets inplace for this sort of thing

Edit: And make sure you contact anet or gaile directly, so they are aware of this recent increased hacking trend

I've told the guild members to watch out for me being online. and if it's not me to find out what is going on.

and i can't change my password yet as i can't remember my name and password for that Ncsoft website.

I really really can't be bothered to start again. I had weapons that i've had since day one. I still had my perfect fiery dragon sword someone gave me 3 years ago. *sobs*

Hmmmmmm tbh, not to be rude... but i kinda don't believe you. =x. Mainly because you said you lost your rank6 hero emote. You CANT ever lose a title (except survivor and stuff like that) but as far as hero goes, you cant get dmemoted.

So has anyone figured out the loophole that is causing so many to lose everything...or any advice for others to try to prevent this such as pword changes etcc..
I have a few accts tied to the play nc but havent been on that site for a looong time cept for the store from ingame.

that was kinda having a joke you know. as was the candy weapons. and the pets. i don't care about any of that.

my characters are gone. Legends all of them. my Warrior jeduthun with a few guild members were the first people in Deldrimor war camp.
my ranger was one of the first to strut around in 15k druids.
my ele had lovely boobs

now if i remake them they'll be shadows. it wont be the same. bah

Edit: seems you say that you kept your Hero emote, i take back what I said in terms of the possibility of you lieing. Sorry you lost your characters, and as for the reasons they are "legends" thats nothing special. Besides "shadows" of characters are still "shadows," although I do understand what you mean, just make completely new characters. I deleted my very old necro, remade it, and it just doesn't feel the same, so I just made a completely different one and I love it just as much as my 1st necro. Sorry for your loss again.

That is horrible, would really hate having something like that happen to me. As for the rank deal, the poster above is correct you cannot lose your emote, so not sure what to comment about that, but I would have to agree that I couldnt start again after losing everything

that's brutal. Make sure ANet knows about everything. I would
1. Take a break/Quit
2. Do PvP only as you should already have all skills unlocked/ etc. (as much as you did before) and you don't need any money in pvp. (can make money too)
