I'd also advise that you get a sense of humor. The "Ritual Lord" comment was a slighted joke to justify my familarity with Ritualists. (although my Ritual Lord guide was the first one, as far as I know...)
The fact that you say I have an "insatiable superiority complex" is actually amusing.
Something tells me that I'll just stick with my Necromancer, go max out the Norn title, then spend the rest of my days helping newbies in Ascalon...

That post is dated June 20th, 2006.
Factions was released on April 28th.
Pi ran a ritlord in our rspike during the preview weekend and we weren't the first to do it - copied it from someone else in tombs after seeing how broken it was.
Fail moar.

I did, I did. I just wanted to wait until the morning before it got nitpicked, atleast.
I popularized it for PvE and scrub FA. So there.

I like paras as long as they are unique...... I play Ra and other stuff in pvp wit my para as a Modded DA and he is very gud support.....
My 2 mains are ranger and sin......
Ranger: Interrupts/Traps/Stances/Beast Masters...........
I even farm UW wit my ranger and he isnt a trapper
Assasins: Daze/Ms+Db/Perma Shadow Form........
Even wit him i can farm Uw and other thingz.....
Every class is good.... U just need to kno and understand how to use them to their limit.
Imo its fun playing ranger, sin, and para.
*i know UW isnt everything but hey, i get 5-10 ectos every run, easy money*

You've got a pretty narrow view of rangers.

You shouldn't be bothering, that's what you should be doing (or not doing, as the case may be).

Warrior.
In first-person view.
With no UI.
Trust me, it's for your own good. You (as a person) seem to be overthinking some things. You (as a necro) just hang back and cast. Now, you're saying you're coming back to the game we love, but you're already bored again.
You need to change. To rush in, screaming "CHARGE!" (yes, gimp your elite, it works for Devona), sword/axe/hammer in hand, Frenzy and Heal Sig on your bar, and let the adrenaline rush carry you until either the enemies fall at your feet or your party wakes up at a rez shrine.
Stop thinking and go with your F*CKING HEART.
If you still have one.

Maybe I just haven't been deep enough into other roles, but I have found them to fit into the following broad groups of increasing complexity,.
Single target dps (spearagon, blood nec, warrior played simply) - needs to know who the enemies are
AoE DPS (fire ele, curses nec) - Needs to know who and where the enemies are
Single target disruption (disruption mes, interrupt ranger) - Needs to know who the enemies are, and what they are doing.
AI Manipulator (Warrior, Derv) - Needs to know who the enemies are, where they are, and where they will be.
AI Counteracter (Active Prot monk) - Needs to know who the enemies are, what they are doing, and what they will be doing.

I do not think you should play. It seems you're guaranteed to be bored of it in 1-2 weeks and looking to buy games to test your new laptop's capabilities

LOL, how did you know you needed to put in the "this topic is serious" disclaimer?
One thing I'm doing to get a good replay out of it is playing a Mesmer, going for survivor the normal way (just playing the game), and only using skills from Nightfall. So far, it's goodness.
Something like that aside, I would say try Warrior. A nice core profession, very different from Necro,
Alternately, Mesmers might be to your tastes because there's some fun hex laying to be had.
Dervish... eh. I'm torn on them. They can be fun, yes, but they didn't catch on with me as much. Your milage may vary. My gut feeling is to say to try Derv or Warrior though to get a feel for the in the thick of it combat stuff. If you hate it, make a mesmer.
Thinking about heading to Ascalon myself this weekend and giving out some free stuff...

Dont dismiss the paragon as a boring, "gay looking" character
Paragons are very powerful buffers which can be extremely fun to play
as well as being almost required for the top elite mission builds
As for other choices:
Monk - Very satisfying when healing/proting in an elite group
- Though if your group fails it is entirely your fault
Warrior -Very un-versatile
-Best used with URSAN lol
Ranger - again not a lot of versatility
- can be very fun when using interupts
Derv - An overpowered warrior with effective self heals
- can be used to solo
Sin - No comment
Rit - I cant really help on this one not knowing a lot about them
Mesmer - the most under-rated profession
- Can be effective im most things
Ele - It can be a joy singlehandedly dropping 3 MS and watching the destruction unfold
- For all out annihilation an ele is the way to go
I can tell you all these things but ultimately you just have to make the choice
Or you can wait for GW2 lol
Gl with your choice

Expect what he was saying is true.
Warrior is pretty complex class if you manage to learn2play. Everytime you improve you get to see it.

Nah Nah, he is joking........right?
And in response to the OP: continue with your necro or run an Imbagon. The choice is yours.
