Who here uses PvX WiKi builds?
Who here uses PvX Wiki builds? We all know about PvX it is a handy place to grap a build and start using it right way.Who uses it or get most their build from there a.All the Time,b.Some What,c.Only Research,d.Never
I b. some what use it for farming builds but d. never for party builds as I prefer to come up with my own as I know how they work.We or I never had the wiki when I first started playing so I had to learn how to make my own or get some advice on a forum.I do however get more advice on farming in the farming here not from PvX.I like to be very creative and it forces me to read up more on the role I am playing and to practice and practice etc.

Lots of people do. Who needs to think of unique builds with all the useful cookie cutter builds out there?

Myeh, I don't.
I have a hell of a lot more fun thinking up, playing around with and optimizing my own builds.
Besides, I can't trust PvX till crap like the Vigorous Paladin and WoH Healer get nuked.

beats Gamependium's STAR BURST WARRIOR, or HEALING LIGHT PALADIN.

If I'm working with a class I completely suck at, I usually glance at wiki. Thenl I realize half the wiki builds suck, and end up making my own anyway.

I would say C: Only Research. I typically make my own up, though I browse around for research or farming builds (even though I don't farm much).

I use it as a handy starting point for profs I have not played much before. Then change it as I get used to the character and the better options.

Research mostly. I like the feeling of putting together my own build and learning to use it. Starting point/research is a good statement overall. I do use some of the farming builds as a framework moreso than a regular PvE build, but even then I'm likely to form-fit it to myself.
What bugs me is the people that won't PUG you unless you have a "Great Working PvE" build -_-.

I don't. I PvE enough to know what is good, and I'm smart enough to make my own builds.

I don't use the PvX Wiki at all. I'm a PvE player, so if I want to research what's effective I can send in one character under standardised conditions to find out exactly what the monsters do in combat and then start going through the repertoire skill by skill until I get a few basic preliminary builds put together. I can then test each build and make refinements as required.
For me, that's a lot more fun than using a cookie cutter build that somebody else designed.

I've never once used the Wiki for a build. A little common sense and you can make your own builds which actually work under most situations.

Never looked at the site actually. But then again, a third of my hours are logged on one character, so I generally know exactly what build to bring for a given situation.

I use wiki builds as a starting point (for heroes), but I rarely copy builds exactly.
