Hum... maybe I won't get AoC on the way home after all.
I'm sure it's going to take a couple of month to sort out the quorks anyways. But ya I have to admit I'm finding it hard to keep busy in GW theses days. Done my GWAMM and filed up my HoM.

Ignore the bad press, it's just the WoW kids complaining because they actually have to think, or the GW player because they cant c-space everything.

Too bright, too WoW like, not enough of the refuse-covered over-crowded streets I've read about.
I want orgies of cultists worshipping Slaanesh in defiance of Sigmar as Chaos overruns the Empire!

No, it is because the game is truly bad.
The combat system is nothing spectacular. It is 3-5 buttons to press. No different than GW or WoW. They take no extra skill to press them. Most of your skills and abilities are long lasting Hots, pots, dots, and everything else ending in "OT". So you pre-cast your buffs, run in and spam 3-5 attack keys untill everyting is dead. If you can't kill everything, you run away and try to heal, or you use a bunch of consumables that give you more "OTS". To top it off, all the so-called combos that are supposed to be the skill of this game can be easily macro'd by anyone with half a brain or a little extra cash (anyone who ever played the Jedi Knight series in multi can attest to how this ruins gameplay).
If any one thinks GW is unbalanced skill wise, go play AoC. You can cast a spell that last hours, cost little to no energy, and recharges instantly and gives a "OT" of some sort, but If you want to use a little bit more powerful spell and more useful, it cost a ton of energy and reharges in minutes (2-5 is common).
In a sense if you applied AoC logic to a couple common GW skills, you would have this:
Fire Attunement: 1 sec recharge, Instant cast, 1 eng: For the next 6 hours your Fire Skills do 10% more damage
Meteor Shower: 5 minute recharge, 50% eng cost, 5 second cast time, combo sequence of left attack, middle attack: Hit foes in target area for 30 damage each second for 15 seconds.
Then, keep in mind everything has 1000's of health points not 500.
Necromancers in AoC? Cool?
Not. You summon minions, they have some controls actually (like heroes do), but enemies run right through them and attack you. So your minions spend all thier time running around chasing enemies that are chasing you, because you are a wet paper bag as a caster in a melee scrap.
Your cool spell to buff minions goes like this:
Frenzy: 2 minute recharge, 3 second cast, 50 eng cost, for 15 seconds target minion is frenzied and does more damage and attacks faster.
The skill would be useful if its recharge was about 20 seconds, but it is 2 minutes!
The game had potential, but aside from SWG, Ive never seen a game that will commit to changing that amount of stuff to make it right.
Then to top it off, If AOC is so good and has such a great community, then why are you still here?

If you quit I got dibs on your stuff.
But really i am farming right now cause i want expensive things but starting a new char is fun, made a paragon and love him so far. Also oldschool guild clears of UW/FoW can be real fun. if you don't have a fun guild find one.

Never trust a game that kicks you from the forum at release and won't let you back in without a box code from purchasing the game...no contact with all my forum buds...NOT a trustworthy move IMHO.
As for GW boredom....set little goals for stuff and do it...cap all the skills, map the world, collect the coolio armors...or helps the newbletts. Go to EoTN and fills the hall with goodies...go to pre searing and collect stacks of red iris flowers and give them to strangers...sit in LA and spam chuck norris jokes, cpimp out your heroes, create new and unusual builds and see what synergy you can get from funky skill combos...gamble, drink heavily...create new characters to reserve clever names for GW2...host a scavenger hunt, walk around without pants and pretend to be a loon....possibilities are endless....then, there's always Maple Story
