I think I shit ponies when I read the first line:
"With this week’s update we will introduce a new system to split certain skills into separate PvE and PvP versions."
This is madness!

Anet not giving a sh!t.
Splitting the skill sets was bad enough, but now instead of making meaningful nerfs, they nerf last month's meta and do almost nothing on the PvE side of play.

- Habbo: It's hard-core low-fidelity game. The trading and collector's aspect attracts a lot of people.
- Webkinz: Cute virtual world with real world tie-ins. It gives people something more than virtual avatar. Keyword: cute
- Puzzle Pirates: Solitaire, Tetris and Bejeweled consumed more hours than all other games combined. Enough said.
- Audition: It's only the largest online game ever. It's Guitar hero online. Yes, plenty of hard-core players there as well.
Hard-core does not mean wtfpwnbbq farming or killing. That in itself is niche market.

wrong to the nth degree.
this is a game FOR the casual player and the hardcore is a very tiny splinter group who could all vanish today and never be missed.
the hardcore are so far out of touch with the vast majority of players they actually think they are somehow important to joe casual who plays for fun not epeen/profit.
jeff strain had it nailed as keynote speaker at that MMO conference.

Late and.. "great" (ironic mode ON). Atts were put at 0..15 range, so the reality is that Shadow form is 5...25..30..32sec duration (S.A. att 0..12..15..16).
So there's not permaform with paradox.. just for about 2 seconds... great ^^ (ironic mode HOLD)

My Shadow Form has just changed from 20 to 30 seconds so I assume the skill changes are now in place.

This update is a good start. Not too many changes at once (setting back PvE skills) and good balances for PvP. As a veteran player I can support this. Keep the good work going Anet!

Lol, you are obviously playing a different game then I am. Since the PvP changes are just horrible. Nerfs to defensive skills in an offensive meta, does that make sense to anyone?

You are here since early 2005. Do you really consider yourself to be among the crowd of the clueless casuals, casuals being considered nowadays to be dumb as a bump somehow, that like easy buttons?
Jeff Strain was talking about things like a grindless game, a game where people progressed into pvp, about doing their very own thing, doing it very well and the moment they introduced heroes he declared buddy gaming the new rave.
To put it bluntly, Jeff Strain was and is talking a lot, especially before they delivered this unfinished scrapped... erm quality product EOTN.
Sorry, people here try to stop this downtrend of making this game worse than ever and you consider it fun for the casual player.
You fail hard.
