probably finished the run and then just didn't rez the guy. if he had left afterwards, the dead scammer would've rezed.

The fact that the CoF runners have the cheek to charge a fee for a run that they cannot complete without the assistance of the people they're running is utterly outrageous. If the smiter can't heal their self, they will die eventually along the course of the run. I've argued many times that if the smiter requires a heal the price of the run should be significantly reduced (1k instead of 2k), due to the fact that the people being run are directly contributing to the runs success. It's like a Droks runner asking for the people they're running to bring Charge and run alongside them so they don't die.
If I ever start doing these runs, I'll be making sure I/my smiter has a self heal, else I'll be doing the runs for free.

QFT!
If i'm being run anywhere in GW i basically want to do nothing as thats why i've paid a runner. Having to bring heals, LoD and anything else to help further the success of a run just pisses me off. Why advertise 2k-2.5k for a run you cant complete without the assistance of others.

the smiter can take LoD or a heal, but usually not both. Speccing into divine favor, or tactics for healsig, takes away from the efficiency of the run by removing points from prot and smite. I can probably do with a little less prot because my 600's health is so high (600 before VB, most people run some kind of superior rune and energy insigs instead of full health) and I'm just that good...so I may just make a smite hero with 16 smite and 14 prot with spec into DF for sig of devotion, or tactics. Either way...helping by casting a heal on the smiter once every few minutes, and getting yourself some lewt by using LoD a few times isn't that big a deal. consider this: 45 minute run with huge mobs and tons of spike, and you're bypassing all of that. It's well worth the 2k even if you're being asked to do something really simple as healing the smiter.

I'm sure you can find different forums for your apocalyptic theories, Sujoy.
The only sort of run I ever do for people is the ferry to Consulate Docks. I've honestly been scammed only once ever, and another guy in the ferry just paid for the scammer's portion too. I find it hard to analyze the populace of Guild Wars, stuck between naked dancers and well-mannered people I randomly come across.

Now, now. Maybe he traveled in time to year 2009, where Indiana Jones (btw, great movie indeed) costs $4 at the videoshops, now he traveled back to year 2008 May, so he can sell them for $20 and become rich! We did it, man, we did it!!
What?
Imo rename thread to ,,Confession of thief'' ;d

Overlooking your horrendous spelling and grammar...
Do you people not realize that most people, myself included, leave them on for a reason? More than likely it's possible to put the comp in a lower powered state (standby, monitor off, using minimum power) for the entire time it's on so you aren't draining it as much as you do during the day. And if I know that what ever it is is going to finish in the middle of the night then I set the computer to automatically turn off after so long.

Nah, I actually finished the run, and everyone else paid prior to final boss. He was ressed again after i beat the boss, but he suicided for some unknown reason. Since the run was finished, everyone else got their rewards and left.....i went to sleep. Also, yea, my comp downloads pron on bittorrent while i sleep.

I'm 25, so i don't have to worry about any that! =P I'm an apocalypse nut myself (in the military atm, and an avid gun collector) and i doubt it will take 30 years....more like 4 or so. If i'm going to lose it all in 4 years anyway, why not enjoy it, right?

I "scammed" yesterday. The runner said he could do CoK in an hour and a half. Now this guy had bailed out on the very same run twice already last week and I was hoping he'd actually fulfill his promise. The guy died about 15 times, disconnected for almost 10 mins, and required people to bring Ursan and Pain Inverter to complete the dungeon. On top of that he took 3 hours and then had the nerve to ask for 15k. He gave everyone else a discount and I refused to pay the full 15k. He obviously thought he had the upper hand and said no. So I suicided into the boss and he taunted me about the fact that I wouldn't get the reward or complete the quest. He was not amused when I rezzed after the boss.
Some people deserve to get scammed. Not CoF runners though. You generally make your money back plus at least 3-5k(including the reward money). If a run costs less than 5k it doesn't pay to scam.

Then he says don't worry about ressing me, i'll just res when you guys leave..... He says this in very broken english, coupled with the fact that this means he is going to pay me in town *AFTER* i know this guy is a scammer.
Anyway, i was about to call it a night so i decided just to leave GW running in the backround on my comp while i slept. I did watch it for about 30 minutes and he hadn't left. He also came out and said basically that he can outwait me and as soon as i do leave, he's golden. Anyway, i came back this afternoon and he was gone.
I win.
Pwned.

Hmmmm.. leaving PC on just to get back at someone.. would have been easier if you left your hero flagged and left.. then he wouldn't have ressed either.

My smiter is /N for Blood is Power, but I do CoF with two heroes, one smiter and one healer. I used to do it with just the smiter, who had Sig of Devo on his bar, and it worked fine 99% of the time. It just went a lot faster if I brought a healer hero along for additional heals.
I haven't done too many runs with customers (did a bunch of them last week to get the last bit of cash I needed for mes FoW), but I asked them to bring heals as a substitute for Tahl *shrug*. Don't like it? No one's making you join my party, and fwiw, I never had trouble getting six people in under a minute. People will gladly pay 2k to follow me around, healing Ogden, opening chests and getting pretty decent loot.
@ OP. Good job. I'd have outwaited the little bastard too. Becomes a matter of principle to me at that point :P

Once you get a feeling for it and after practicising, you can get the run down to ~45 minutes.
