It will happen to me on the odd occasion, and has been happening since I started playing. It's not a big deal unless you're running a really hard area, or you're on a tedious farming run. In PvP it's just frustrating though!

This actually caused me to fail Fisherman Cay once, and make my pug really pissed off at me.

I was playing an MM (which wasn't the best choice, as I learned in the mission) and had my full complement of 10 minions during the final fight before the boat. The minions all bunch up around me and body block me completely. The rest of the party is dead, and the boat arrives. I run down the dock, and then rubberband back to where I was standing. Twice. /stuck does nothing. The rest of the team is using language that would get them 72-hour suspensions.

End result: I explained what happened, put them on ignore, and pulled it off with henchmen fairly easily. But still, I am bitter about that moment.

Ancient bug is ancient.

Easily repeatable in UW. Go up the steps on your right and run past the two patrolling Aatxes and often you'll wind up getting by, only to see damage indicators come flying over your head like crazy.

Quickest fix I know of is to c-space. The attack re-calibrates your position and you spring back in the client to where the server thinks you're at. You can also use an emote or just stop moving and stand still for a second. I don't know if /stuck will work with this bug since you're not really stuck, the client is just refusing to properly find your position.

The /stuck command does work in that scenario. I was pulling a mob of graspings & aatxes & suddenly I was at the other side of the chamber with the mob attacking air :P I used the /stuck command & it warped me right back to the middle of the mob

ANet know all about this, Izzy even explained why it happens (space around the mob for animation effects and lack of sync between client and server). There are so many ways this could be fixed. The Client could work out if its happening and request a re-sync, a hit could send re-sync info etc.

ANet don't want to, not interested, its been reported a lot, and been acknowledged, they just don't see it as an issue to fix, probably because it doesn't involve strings or PvP.

It seems to happen on Aatxes alot. I once got one stuck in the center stand in the opening chamber. He was just standing there using his ripostes over and over again and we were both stuck in combat, but couldn't hit each other.

Its quite easy to see if you are still taking damage even though you are far away from a group (mobs or players). This way you recognise the rubberband way earlier and you type /stuck
Flaggers in gvg often have a bind to type it or pretype it before the match.
