Why'd you have to wake it up? Now all hell is going to break loose. Thanks a LOT.

1) It's a dragon, called ''Drakkar'' though that's not official yet, I think.
2) I did notice it seemed to be higher since 1 or 2 updates ago o_O..

Its one of the great dragons that are stronger than Glint I think. One of those dragons is gonna be featured in GW2, someone told meh .

Not ONE dragon, several. I imagine if it is moving, it's Anet trying to create more hype for something that will be pathetic. (Destroyers, anyone?)

He didn't ask what is it, he asked if anyone noticed if it got any closer to the ice. Imo it IS really weird, as I saw a lot of pictures and tried to see him myself, I could barely see him!

Hehe, thanks for clearing up the misconception... Nice to know some other people have been noticing it too. I remember when I first got GWEN i tried for ages to see the details of the drakkar-y guy but simply couldn't, and now it's clear as day!
btw, he's a she.

That's actually a great idea. might venture to the desert again too and see if anything weird is going on down that way.

You are not going crazy, or we both are...
That definately looks closer than before, maybe someone thought it should be higher so you could see more of the detail, I doubt they are steadily raising it.
EDIT: well in that case YES we are going crazy, oh dear...

Hmm, in light of the above post perhaps GW is going through some graphics overhauls that I simply haven't known about. If graphics have been improved it would explain why i have so much more detail and thus it seems higher...
i still think it's slightly higher though as it's hard to see the top of the ice with the unsupported graphics card, but I could just be stubborn now.

I could barely see it the last time I was there (during the pre-launch weekend event). Heh.. I wouldn't be surprised if I was mad though..

It does seem closer to me, my thought, they are trying to make it more like the concept art of the dragon *part of it is sticking out of the ice*.
They could also be trying to create more hype for the Dragons like Fenix said *but I disagree with the dragons going to be pathetic*.

Looks quite a bit closer to me.
...And I have to ask, is your Necromancer's name a reference to the movie Labyrinth? Because that movie kicks ass.

Add me to the crazy list because that seems much closer to me as well...
Also I just put this in lore but I'll toss it here too.
Has anyone else noticed the bone dragon looking thing in the ice in the end game area of Prophesies?
There's ice all around that area and my husband noticed a HUGE form in the ice. There are big skeletons everywhere in Proph, but this is by FAR larger. While it is skeletal, it is much more reminiscent of the Drakkar dragon.
You can see the bones in the upper right, but they extend down past the "bottom" of the pic. It even seems to wrap around to the other side of the ice. Bone Dragon? Size of Rotscale's great great grampy"

Sign me up for the "a lot clearer at least" crowd. (Though I suspect it is the ice effect being reduced than "Drakkar" on the move) :P
I tried to show a friend the dragon a month or so back and you could hardly see her.
*Goes off to Drakkar to take another look*
However, if she is on the move and all the known dragons are going to start shifting as they start to awake, it will be a very nice touch. Seriously doubt it though.

ooh so thats drakkar?
I've always thought that was the tiny-tailed-pony-turtle whose name is Bob.
would be cool if it follows up in gw2.
