1 from a charr in GW:EN, and a white dropped right next to it. Was pretty pumped.

I only remember the areas.

- Post-searing Ascalon, low-level. Might have been The Great Wall mission.
- 55 farming outside of Bergen Hot Springs (got two black dyes doing that)
- Perdition rock while running skill caps for people
- Varajar Fells during HM Norn farm
- Hell's Precipice mission

In my first week of playing i remember i had a couple drop from Kappa, on Shing Shea. Was quite a nice start since Blacks were 13k back then

I have had them drop from a variety of monsters. Most recent was from a Roaring Ether in NF, but I have had them from a variety of things. About 5 or so in total.

Most of mine came from pre, when I 'attempted' a perma pre character.

I'm pretty sure I've had one or two from the insects in Kourna aswell.

In 2.5 years I've had around 40 black dye drops. The only monsters I can recall that have never dropped a dye of any type were aloe seeds and wurms in pre-searing. I've gotten dyes - including blacks - from every other type of monster in pre-, plus various monsters in all three campaigns. Missions, quests, farming, normal mode, hard mode, whatever - basically, as far as I can tell, any monster that can drop dye can drop black dye, and that's pretty much every monster in the game.

Yup all of my black dye drops have come from Stone Summit guys (north and south shiverpeaks). I seem to be lucky where black dye drops are concerned, I got quite a few in a short time when the prices were high. I don't get so many nowdays though.

I have had so many black and white dyes drop I do not even notice what monster or what zone im in just hold till I get 5-10 then sell. (never any set pattern they drop allover all 3 games for me)

Its the sup vigor I do not find (found 2 in 2 and a half years playing).

First ever was from a level 1 Grawl in pre-Searing.

Recently, as in within the last two months, I've gotten one from a low level Kappa on Shing Jea island and two from Raptor Nestlings (one on two runs right in a row... that was exciting).

black dyes from bladed termites and a corsair in Istan

jade sea during mission

last nite someone in my pug got a black dye from an aataxe (or grasping?) same mob so i couldn't tell --- I had my eyes glued on the spirit bond lol

lots of other places...can't remember them all, but suffice to say they seem to drop from anywhere or anything

so true..15 mos for me and only 1 sup rune about a month ago
