The REAL reason A/E Permasin farming will never be nerfed.
A guildie of mine realized this the other day. Forgive me if it's been discussed before, but I couldn't find anything with the search tool.
Let's analyze this build, shall we?
The standard Perma-SF build is thusly:
[Glyph of Swiftness][Deadly Paradox][Shadow Form][Fire Attunement][Glyph of Lesser Energy][Mark of Rodgort][Lava Font][Dash]
All working together beautifully. The one thing that experienced veterans might not have noticed as significant is that this build requires skills from ALL FOUR CAMPAIGNS.
Let that sink in.
This means that for everyone who wants to make a permasin to take advantage of the farm, Anet makes another sale.
So, with this in mind, perhaps Anet is letting it sit for a while so that sales will maybe increase a small amount.
Conspiracy theory: Anet introduced Glyph of Swiftness for JUST SUCH A BUILD. These people aren't stupid, remember. They MADE Guild Wars. They know how it works. They understand skill combinations. They know that if you let SF expire and keep your health around 50 then Mindblades won't break aggro. Maybe Anet engineered this skill and then split PvP and PvE so they could buff SF without the PvP bunch whining about it.
Thoughts? Even if they didn't have this in mind from the start, surely they realize it by now.

ANet makes sales off of it being "free to play". When a player wants to try something new but is bitch slapped for not having the proper campaign he's just as likely to not purchase it as opposed to purchasing it.

With each new chapter they introduced overpowered skills and kept them for a while before they get hit by nerfs. These skills control the META and everyone who wants to be competitive needs them. The same can be said for PvE only and Ursan skills. Without them uou get less groups atm, dragging doubting people over the line to buy the expansion set.

It's like the reason they keep Ursan the way it is- for people to buy GW:EN.
Although in this case it's not just GW:EN, it's all of the campaigns.

Interesting find, but not convincing enough to me that it won't become nerfed.

I have to agree with Shayne Hawke, a nerf to SF is imminent. Sucks for me, 'cause I use it to run friends with my Mesmer.

Nah, incentives to own all the campaigns have always been there. That's nothing new.
Elementalist in DOA: "Nuker lfg for Veil!"
Player 1: "Nuker? Dude, go Ursan!!"
Player 2: "Load Ursan or leave"
Elementalist: "I don't own EotN"
Player 1: "Then play a monk or leave"
Elementalist in HA: "What build you want me to run?"
Group Leader: <Pings Searing Flames build>
Ele: Sorry, I don't have NF.
Group Leader: <Kicks ele>
Ranger in Tombs: <Pings barrage pet build>
Group Leader: Change to /Rt and bring splinter please
Ranger: Sorry, I don't have factions.
Ranger in Umbral Grotto: Ranger lfg for Slaver's!
Warrior: <invites ranger to group>
Necro: Ping build please
Ranger: <pings>
Warrior: No FS????? Load FS.
Ranger: Sorry, I only have factions.

Anet is a business. It is all about money. Watch the next time their numbers come out, Factions sales will be up. Of course they wont nerf it. It is all about selling the campaigns. Each additional copy they sell drops about 90% to the profit line. I have been telling people who ask me this exact same thing. There has to be a reason to get people to buy more campaigns, and that is to either get better items or to get better skills. This is the ultimate last hurrah skill wise. The build makes nearly all areas ridiculously easy. I did about 5 runs with my new sin and that was enough for me. It felt icky it was so easy, lol. 2% of the rich are going to become poor with devalued ectos. 98% of the masses will feel all fat and happy by the time GW2 is announced. Fat and happy translates into GW2 sales. It is all about the money. Please 2% of your customers, or please 98% when about ready to release the next installment? Next stop is 3k on the ectosplatsm. Only when farmers are making 25-30k per hour will it stop. On average about 5-7 ectos per run..at least for me. 3 runs per hour. That means 15-21 ectos per hour. So ectos should be about 2k before it normalizes to other farming alternatives.

I appreciate your unique and valuable insight, but I don't see why this couldn't be posted in one of the multiplicitous topics on the issue.
