Usually Masamune it's 16-20 year olds who are going through that teenage angst crap and have to QQ and be bastards. Damn teenagers.
I still have honor, but I"m cheap. I'll still pay though if someone asks.

Well, at least it's not all 16-20 year olds. Because I know I'm not a bastard and I don't try to make others' lives as bad as mine. And I'm 17 here... I better not change into those annoyances. Also, I met people who claim to be in their mid 20s and were complete A-holes. So you cannot really relate how people act to an age. Unless, of course, you say 8-60 year olds, but thats overdoing it .

It may be 16-20 year olds generally (I read somewhere that the average age for cirme is within in that age region for males, it may be due to chaning hormones and trying to attract females, I don't know), but I personally think it has more to do with the human race and how it always seems to lean towards Hobbes' idea of human nature, before snapping back in your face with a perfect example of altruism.
That being said, I'm far to lazy to be mean to people. I was raised to be a nice person and going against that just to annoy strangers takes too much effort, I'd much rather get the mission or whatever over with so that I can laze around playing Pokemon while farming.
I'm nineteen as well, but female. I wonder if that has to do with anything. I shall ponder upon this.
Also, to Gun Pierson, I think you did well, standing by your word in spite of the situation. That has honour to me.

I'll never understand the people who rage and refuse to share the cost of a con set in a PUG. I've been doing a lot of HM FoW runs lately, and had... colorful experiences. Groups which I organised had a tendency to be nicer, more enjoyable and more resilient than PUGs I joined.
Few days ago I joined a 5/8 guild group who was looking for 3 players. They wanted those 3 players to have con sets. The other two didn't have them, I had 3 and said "NP, I'll use them but would like people to chip in with 800g per con set". The five guildies concluded that "there's always a freeloader out for profit" and kicked me out of the group.
People like these are the reason I play PvE on American servers. Their logic always makes me lol.

I think gun, presented his/her thought's well...
What I don't seem to understand, are why various people spammed his thread with things having nothing to do with his initial post. I had to scroll to find the posts of any value regarding what he/she stated.
Are people in need of "Post" counts, that badly?
Perhaps, honor is a long lost art. Gun, you have great perception in the choice you made. ::High fives::

I pretty much stay out of the elite areas. Most of the people there take it much too seriously. Screaming, namecalling and bad language just to name a few of the problems. And don't get me started on people who can't play telling other people how to play.
When I do go to the harder areas, I go with one or two friends and hero's. We all share the consets. I never have understood why people who are all working together on a goal feel one player can make a team. Why one player should be excused from bring consets. If your going to use them everyone should share.

Honour - A silly word that stands inbetween people and winning. Or used as an excuse to deny a lack of skill, "Oh I was honourable, so I was better even though I lost!"
Atleasts that's what it meaning in a game, but if I ever become a Knight, then I'll care about my honour. Elite areas are pretty lame ayway.

This has been common accross all Elite PvE areas such as FoW - UW. Nobody wants to pay the extra 1k for the con set, or even use their own set for the benefit of the party.
Welcome to the selfish world of Pug players.

Honor would be the fact that you used the cons that you offered in the first place. They aren't necessary to play the game, they are for the convenience of saving time.
I can't stand someone using cons and acting like it's a noble, selfless act. It's not like they only affect all other party members, you benefit just as much as everyone else from their "convenience".
I use cons, when I feel it would be beneficial and I won't use them until I am convinced that the team won't crash and burn in the first 5 min, but I never expect to be compensated for using something I chose to bring. If someone wants to say "I'll pay if someone wants to throw up an armor or celerity" then fine otherwise it is my discretion and my cost.
If they are about making money then "WTS consets 7k" is all you need to do.

There are very few people with honor in GW. If you pug with someone , or even better be in a guild with him you know what I mean. I only pugged with that kind of person once , however I had the luck of being in a guild with one. It's hard to speak about my honor , but I tend to do the right thing.

Dear Anet, this is why people solo farm.
Sometimes other folk are too much stress to co-operate with so people find ways of earning cash by themsevles. Unnerf solo farming, nerf people.

Some of them wanted to see the cons first, two of them paid me. I show the cons and two guys keep on telling the group it's a scam. That was enough, I give the players (who paid) their money back and the battle begins. One of those two tards (a monk) dies instantly cause he doesn't even have a vigor rune on his armor he told us afterwards. I fast res him without risking the team and put the cons up afterall, cause I felt we wouldn't make it without them.
Someone asked who put the cons up. 'Who do you think?', I responded. Those two I talked about earlier said:' You're too cheap for that'. The others realised I indeed put up the cons and wanted to pay me after which I told the group it's on the house (it was a matter of principles to me). We succeeded and back in town I see those two players who called me names etc. selling one armbrace each. Whatever.
Morale of the story, I salute all players who still have honour left, we may be naive but we're men of our word.
