GW2 will be totaly new game that means all u have done in all 4 gw parts wont help u a bit.As far as i know u will still be able to play old gw because gw2 will have their own servers,..etc.Soo I rly dunno if i'm going to buy gw2 or not because it seams unfair that all u have done in "old gw" wont help u -_-

But the same goes for all sequels
Even the Baldurs gate/Ice WindDale games are the same, although you can transfer your character over, they still start from scratch in the sequels

I'll buy it if it's good, I won't if it sucks.
Why are all of you making purchasing decisions without even seeing the game?

I'll probably get bored of throwing rocks at dinosaurs in CoD5 Prehistoric Warfare, so maybe I'll get GW2.

Because Guild Wars 1 is not good enough to hold most player's attentions, and players who are incapable of purchasing a new game to hold them over until GW2 have nothing to do but talk about GW2 potential, or whine about it's lack thereof.

I may as well buy it... even thought it's basically going to be World of Guildcraft... Ah heck, maybe I should just stick with GW...
I actually like the later campaigns, though. To me, Prophecies was boring as heck; it was so predictable, repetative and wasn't even all that attractive after the Searing. But meh... That's just my personal taste... Maybe it's something you had to do when it first came out...

I'm not buying blindly, that's for sure. I'll be reading up on it as it approaches and if I dont know just before launch, I'm sure I'll know within a couple weeks if issues I have with GW are addressed the way I'd like.
Thing is, even that may be irrelevant. My PC died and I have long been a Mac user. I dont plan on buying a new PC just to game on, and, though my next computer will be another Mac and be an Intel-based Mac, I'm not installing Microsoft crap on it. So unless I have a huge change of heart and buy another gaming PC, or unless Anet makes a Mac version of GW2 (hey, WoW does), then I may not be playing anyway.

Big necro. Anyway, I probablly won't buy it. First of all, my system probablly won't meet the requirements for it when it comes out, and I don't plan on buying another computer for at least 3 years. Second of all, I can still play GW1 (so why shell out money for GW2?). Third of all, I reccently got an X-Box 360.

My plan for the buying of GW2.
If its like Prophecies *aka little grinding*: I'll buy.
If its like Eye of the North *aka LOTS of grinding*: I won't buy.
If its incredibly easy for PvE: I won't buy. *Not a PvP person personally, I like playing for the storylines, not for hearing/saying "lol you n00bl3ts"*
So, I will have to wait a bit after it comes out before I buy it, for both the price to go down and to see if it has lots of Grind in it. I want to see the whole Skill over Time idea again. Less Grinding, and harder PvE FTW!

I don't plan to buy it.
However, the release date is a long time away. Perhaps I will change my mind between now and when it is released.

It never ceases to amaze me how many people bitch and complain about Guild Wars, yet hang around the forums and in game. If you don't like it play something else. That simple... No need to drag down other people who are enjoying the game.

I doubt I will buy it, But it all depends.
If the game requires more than my current pc can handle I will skip it.
If the game is based off pvp mechanics like gw 1 is then I will skip it.
If I can find another game that offers an MMOish feel without a monthly fee and is as good or better than gw1 I will skip it.
If missions take more time than gw1 missions do I will skip it.
If the game does not offer good solo/hero/henchie support I will skip it.
If the content of the game, professions, storyline, loot does not appeal to me I will skip it.
I highly doubt I will be buying GW2 for many other reasons, I am the type of person who does not like to spent a lot of time on a game just to abandon it, I still play my ff7 saves, I still play my MGS2-3 saved games. I still play D2 LOD. I like to stick with games for years. I will also be playing GW1 until I am completely fed up with it, So I doubt gw2 will even appeal to me since I can still play the original.
I play many, many games, both on pc and console. GW gives me my MMO fix, so I don't think GW2 will be required. If I get the hankering to play a MMO I can always turn on guildwars and sate my thirst for whatever.
I am also looking forward to SC2, but again the game is going to be a lag nightmare with all the units on screen along with battle graphics. I won't be buying a new pc just to play 2-3 new games.
The rumors of a Warhammer 40k MMO is very appealing to me, I am a long time 40k fan of the table top game, I bought Firewarrior for the ps2 long ago and I own all the dawn of war games and play them often. If 40k is free to play online then GW2 won't stand a chance in hell of me buying it.
I also have many other things to buy, and play, Metal gear solid 4, Tekken 6, The new final fantasy's for ps3 and I also need to finish collecting the rest of the 3.5 game books I do not have. GW2 is at the bottom of a very long list.

I love how people who hate it when people bitch and complain about things in a thread post in that same thread and bitch and complain about bitching and complaining. People can stop playing a game they do not like as simply as people can refrain from posting in a thread they find pointless/annoying. Yet they still do. Its a paradox.
