It's the internet. As long as you're on the net, there's going to be a measure of anonymity, which means that there's going to be a bunch of people who think it gives them licence to be rude. Y'know, just because nobody knows random username 5318901 is Bob.
When I find someone's behaviour too intolerable, I just add the name to my ignore list, really.

Unfortunately there's only 10 ignore slots so hardly enough to ignore the many that are intolerable, thus I end up using "Do Not Disturb" and only turn it off when making a trade. I would have preferred a system that nobody can talk to you unless they are in your friends list, that would have worked better.

hehe, for several months my ignore list was comprised of "Bubba *** Mesmers" from the Highlander Games. Probably going to have to put them right back on it after this post.

Agreed but the consideration of such an option really says a lot about the game.
After reading this thread I'm firstly glad to hear I'm not alone in my thoughts and secondly so thankful I found a good guild early.
