Farmed away those grawls with my first warrior, that you had to do for the first warrior quests... took me 2 hours and i wondered why i didnt finish the quest ôO
2nd: i talked to that guy u had to heal when choosing monk as secondary class in those catacombs... i thought that was a real guy and wondered why he didn't answer...

Making countless numbers of warriors (say 3) to fight in ascalon arena and I bought them each 15k armor and deleted them all..... And when I first got to Dragon's Lair i didn't know what an elite was, and after I saw the ranger boss killed i saw a guy use poison arrow, so I thought that guy had it. Killed the boss about 5 times till I realized he didn't have that elite even though I tried to cap it before.......

I got a skill point on a mending paladin
Now as I go back through some of my old equipment templates, I am astonished at how bad they were. Sup runes on monks, not a single 40/40 set to be found, not one over 500 hp. Good lord I was bad

I was making my way through Prophecies for the first time on my first character, a mesmer. Someone gave me a free run somewhere in the Crystal Desert then offered to let me join their guild. I thought, well, sure, why not and did. Then the next day the guy pops up and offers to sell me a gold mesmer offhand for 2k. I still had no clue about how much items were worth and the offhand looked ok, but most of all I figured that my guildie wouldn't cheat me, right? So I bought the offhand.
It only took me a day or two of mulling over this exchange before I realized that the guy had sold me crappy merch food at an inflated price. I left the guild and never heard from anyone in it again, soon thereafter found the guild I'm in which has been very nice.
I didn't lose a lot of money or time, which is a good thing, but it's one of the only things I did during my noob days that still makes me cringe.

I remember when I used to think farming literally meant farming.
That having a pet was an absolute must for all my characters.
Although I am glad I never fell into the Wammo trap, mainly because I find the warrior class boring.

Yes, I did that too! I'll have to think of something else.
I bought a 5/1 Vamp bowstring, added it to a Gold bow to try to sell for a mint and then realised it didn't have a damage bonus. Tried to re-salavage and lost the string - 35k down the tubes.

back when i first did pre-searing, me and my cousin both farmed for days trying to muster up the 2k it took to make a guild, in hopes of getting a cape...all we wanted was a cape... we eventually found out that you couldnt get a cape until post-searing.
at that point, me = fail.

Lets see, back in ye good olde days, I didn't have a clue how runes worked. I could put them on my armor, but I didn't know how to take them off, or that you could overwrite them, so I ended up getting lots of sets of 15AL armor.
Even better though, I would find these pieces of armor (dropped from monsters no less) that had runes on them! My problem was that i was playing as an elementalist though, and eles can't wear those bulky pieces of armor. I was actually convinced that a warrior would be able to wear them, and benefit from the armor and the rune. So, I managed to get not one but two super vigor runes in armor around Yaks Bend somewhere (back in ye olde days when they were worth 70kish).
Now, being the good guy that I am, I wanted to help the community, so I decided to sell these amazing pieces of armor. I was advertising somewhere, when a guy whispers me saying something like "lol, noob those pieces of armor are worthless". Now I'm not one to be easily deterred, so I kept right on selling. I altered my method, including the +50 health bit. The guy who had told me they were worthless comes back, offering me 5k for the two, "to take them off of my hands so that I could buy something better". I smelled a yak here, and I found a kind fellow who explained how the entire rune system worked, and about how to salvage them. He went away with a Sup Vigor rune, and I went away just that tiny bit more ready to take on the mysteries of this glorious game.
