anyways was thinking that, if anet decides to keep this new rule in place, they could create a "casual" AT for guilds whose rank doesn't make the cut for reward points. Now the there would still be reward points handed out but significantly less (i.e winner gets 150 or so per person). Additionally no qualifier points would be handed out. Gives those guilds who chose to help people or who wanted to try their hands at the AT a way to participate in a AT and still be rewarded for their efforts. This would also create a good learning environment for PvE'ers who wanted to get into PvP however the environment would still contain that competitive side. I noticed many of the guilds who played in the casual part of the guru cup wished that they could play like that more often and this might be a way to do that.
is my grammar better this time?

If ANet did this that would be awesome, I know my Guild has been really wanting to do more Tourneys like these instead of just Ladder matches and the AT system was the only way atm you can compete. Yeah we probably would have gotten slaughtered if we do participate but nonetheless a few TRP is an encouragment to get people all the people together for a specifc time. Now that it stands casual guilds are better of just playing ladder which imo is getting really boring, nothing at stake while in AT's you can gain/loose alot of rating

Very nice Ravager. Best idea you have had in this thread.
It would be very cool to see them change AT's to a guru cup style.

The point of a swiss tournament is that as the tournament progresses, guilds of comparable skill level should be getting paired against each other. Considering how bad AT activity is as is, why further subdivide the player population?

This shows you know very little about ATs : right now the winner gets 60 points for finishing 1st, together with 15 for finishing the tournament. Add another 15 if they won 5 games. That is a total of 90 points. So where exactly is that 150 point reward "significantly less" ?

Divisions would be bad.
All the "B" division for Guilds not on the ladder would be is Smurfs farming AFK guilds with one or two REAL guilds thown in there saying"WTF? Every match is 5 mins long, either we roll people just standing there or these guys with mad skills just run us over"
Alas, it would be inmposible to have a GURU style tourny every month. IF the game were more active and the ladder matches paired better I think, maybe, there would be some way to set up divisions.
Right now the lack of players makes the ladder pairings bad. I guested with a PvE guild last night doing their first ever GvGs, in 4 matches we landed 2 top 500 guilds and a smurf, DOH! yeah they didn't learn much in those 5min mathces, though we did win the 1 match against a team with a ~1200 rank. I mean come on, top 500 your first match out? I don't blame the pairigns though, I blame inactivity.
I'm rambling again

Yea i don't know much as like I said before i really don't play much anymore
And i would think more guilds would play if they knew they had at least a small chance of not getting RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOed up by a better guild?
