Default Dragon Festival Reduex

Last year(aug 6-8 2007) anet had a dragon festival reduex event where they opened up the boardwalk again. This happened a month after the regular dragon festival had occured. My question is do you think that they will have this second mini dragon festival this year at or around the same date? And does anybody know why they had that event and whether or not it was a one time deal? I read on wiki that they had the second festival because so many people lagged out and/or could not play due to the immense lag.

I only need 200k points to max lucky and have started to put aside money in hopes that they will be consistent with past event schedules and have this second boardwalk event on the first weekend of august.

P.S. please don't tell me to run chests for the last 200k points, i know its only 800 retains but i've already ran 10,000 chests and it sucked.

Probably not. I believe they had an issue with one of their servers such that an entire region didn't have access to the event. Since they didn't have that issue this year, I doubt they'll redo it.

I believe they had the reduex because of connection problems during the regular festival, meaning many players couldn't participate in it.

The held the Reduex (Which was exactly the same as the original Dragon Fest with the exception of making presents drop customized, thank you very much ), because pretty much all of Europe was unable to attend the original because of server issues.

That being the case, I doubt they will have it again since no one seemed to have lag issues with this most recent DF. Though it would be fun if they did.

Wait.... on second thought the idea of running through those Shing Jea quests another 13 times doesn't really appeal to me... >_>

I'm in the same boat, I need about 200k lucky points to max it, and I already ran 10000 chests too. Plus that would give me my 30th title since I missed the wintersday in july event that would have maxed my sweet title. Actually, I say do a redux of that event! Wintersday in august! Then I could max sweet and get r3 gamer! But meh, they're not gonna do a redux cause supposedly there wasn't enough lag this year (could have fooled me tho)

it's up to Anet, all we can do is guessing here, which really is nothing.

Don't think there will be a redux this year. As far as im aware there were no server problems this year just the usual lag.

Last the reduex was done because of lag and many, many, many, disconnections this year it wasn't bad, I see no need for them to redo it again.

There won't be a redux if you ask me. The last year redux was a compensation for a very specific problem (Lag because of net problens during earlier dragon festival). It won't happen again.

Like has already been said.. They only did it last year because there were a lot of problems with the servers and many people couldn't get on to attend the festival, which meant missing out on the hat, etc. It was really stressful and pretty unfair to miss out on it all, because of server problems.

Since there was nothing like that this year, I see no reason why they'd have another Redux.

800 retains would cost a minimum of 1,000,000 gold. I think we all know what's cheaper.

I think they might consider the requex as the only thing they add to the game these days are events to keep people playing.

Don't know about you, but I have 65% retainment rate:
- at 1250 each, 800 retains would take me 1230 chests and I would lose 430,5 lockpicks = 538,2K

Forget the stupid festival, just open the boardwalk for a month so that anyone who started playing in 2007 instead of 2006 can actually max that title. "August Boardwalk Madness" month...yeah...that is the ticket! Or how about keep the boardwalk open until you leave, once you leave you dont get back in. I will take a chance on 21 straight days of uninterrupted internet connection!
