No more update notes i say. They are not needed. Let the players fugure out the changes for themselves. It takes only two minutes to make a new overpowered farming build after all.

I dont know where the wiki journal is, or her blog, if these two things are the same or different entities. This is the only place I come for GW discussion and news, and I find, as others do, that Anet news, discussion and a presence is gone. Completely.
If she was insulted here on these forums, as someone else said, than I am truly sorry for the immaturity of those involved, but at the same time have to say its the internet. Get over it. It happens to all of us, anywhere, on any forum we go, and would be magnified x10 for a representative of a company, since those disgruntled with some aspect of the product may cross the line, on purpose or by accident. It comes with the territory of being CR.
I wish she would post on these forums. My view of Anet as a company is directly affected. Its her role as a CR. I'm not going to wade through a wiki even if I knew where it was. A wiki is not a good format for discussion. I might look at a blog, as a blog is more personal, simply offering a window into her role and job and life within the company. In short: a forum is what is needed for discussion.
If she wont do that, then it needs to bee someone's responsibility to wade through the wiki and draw out the pertinent details and make topics here in one of the forums, maybe as stickies so people can see, and then we can discuss the points. Maybe she would then come in and at least look at those discussions?
I need to stress: there are people here obviously who look at her wiki. News from it sometimes comes here in some fashion. Its quite obvious from the silence lately that not much of consequence is being posted in the wiki anyway. Bottom line is more news needs to be coming from Anet. Tell us the issues being batted around in developer discussion, tell us where we are at in development, tell us some detail of how one or another of the features we know may turn out, show us a little concept art. After a year there HAS to be some things to talk about, even though I realize its likely we're a year yet away from beta.
Finally, if she cant talk about GW2, she should be able to talk about GW. She should be able to talk about something. There are outstanding issues unresolved in GW. Will they remain that way and GW will simply stay in a static state? Any ideas on how the community will or wont be involved when GW2 comes out? Different than now I hope. So much to talk about. So much silence.

Tell me where it is and I'll look. You make it sound like she put a statement out there as to why the silence and, if that's the case, I can disagree with that before even reading it. She's a CR.
I mean seriously, I've never seen a post by Regina. An occasional quote. Used to see Gaile all over the forums and it was appreciated. Made me feel like Anet was at least aware of community concerns. They didnt have to act on them in a way that I preferred. The simple fact that I felt like Anet was aware of community concerns made me feel at least that they were making informed decisions over the course of game development even if I didnt agree with them personally. It doesnt feel that way now.
Anyway, please post the link. It will be the first thing I read from her and she has been CR how long?

Yes, sticks and stones and all those things. She should have thick skin for this business or quit.
However, threads like this kinda make her eventual posting here highly flammable and ultimately unproductive. It kinda wont really have any result other than her post being dissected. Would you participate in something that is guaranteed to end up in flames? (oh, DOH)

I agree, she makes it worse over time, yes, and threads like these dont help any. Thing is the day would come when the GW2 beta is out that someone will need to step up to the plate as CR, so if it was me, I'd try to do it now so that no more time would go by. More difficult later.
I've never heard a word from her. Some people have said she's posted a few things on a blog somewhere, but if it was her intent to become CR and then sort of vanish from community discussion, she should have posted a sticky saying that here, with a link to where she would post these updates. I dont know where they are. Maybe then we wouldnt have these threads.
Important for me to add, I pass no judgment on her at all. I've just never seen a single thing from her.

One of the most intelligent posts I've seen so far.
With that said, I don't expect she should post here. Only thing that can accomplish is more flaming, whether it's flamebait or not.

It made me angry that people, who know nothing about be apart from what they found through Google, targeted me with sexist, misogynistic, anti-feminist, racist, and homophobic comments.
It made me angry that people made sexist and objectifying comments about my appearance. Apparently I am supposed to welcome comments from people (I assume they are males) saying that they’d “hit it” or “tap that” because they found me attractive. Comments that reduce me to an object without agency or will are compliments, right?

To comment on what she wrote in her blog: she took whatever comments that were made about her way too personally. She sounds a little too bitter to even be a CR. How can we have a CR that packs up and leaves once that happens? Crap like that happens all the time on internet forums, much as I am sorry again to hear that it happened.

You made a QQ tread about an Anet empolyee not giving the community (aka.you) enough attention and you expect a contructive discussion? What is this supposed to achieve? Polite whining is still whining. Either you play the game or you don't. Quit the moaning. Nothing is going to change until GW2.

This is part of the problem actually you know. You are perfectly capable of finding the wiki on your own. You can even find links to it ingame. And from there it is only a small step to the Anet people on wiki link, find Regina's name and start reading.
For the rest, the letter is pointless. A CM is only as good as the information they get to work with. As everyone knows, there is no news about GW2. And as everyone also knows, there is nothing to discuss about GW1 that hasn't already been discussed to death. The GW2 part isn't Regina's fault, she works with the info she is allowed to share. The GW1 part isn't her fault either, there just isn't anything left to say.
Now we do have people demanding her to respond on all kinds of things. No idea what those people are thinking, but in 90% of the times you can find Anet's opinion on it by using the search button. Some will probably even be addressed by Gaile months ago. The few times something new comes up, people are demanding a reaction at times that don't make sense. Even CM people have weekends, even CM people sleep. Just because Gaile didn't, doesn't mean all CMs are like that.
I think the main problem is that the community is desperately looking for something to talk about. Since GW is discussed to death, they are looking for other things related to it. Which explains the doom threads and also explains the CM threads. If you ignore those 2 kinds of threads, there is almost nothing left to react on for anyone. Gives Regina 2 options.
1) act like the community is all 12 years old who need to hear the same over and over until they finally, after saying it for over a month, get it wrong and start more doom threads.
2) act like the community is actually intelligent enough to understand that no posts means no news. And only post when there is something to say.
And really, can someone write an open letter to Guru asking to don't write open letters if you have nothing to say?

Fixed for an accurate depiction of GW CR's job experience; the portion in bold is the extra 'perks' in the job.
Playing it for 3 years != being exposed to majority of the GW's community. She can quit if she wants to but let's not lie to ourselves; we need her more than she need us.

I'm not sure why so many people still think Anet, Regina or anyone else connected with GW needs to even comment on, let's face it, a dead game.
Continue playing GW if that is your chosing, but, Those In Charge have made it very clear --- nothing is being done for GW as it now stands. Since GW2 isn't out yet, there doesn't need to be any communitcation from their side.
Personally, I've moved on. I feel I got my monies worth from GW and the 'expantions' and I've moved on. Will I buy into GW2? Probably not.
My feelings are that the folks creating GW have tried to make an on-line game with the thoughts of it being akin to an Xbox-type game -- buy it, play it, toss it, buy a new one. Thing is, with an on-line game a 'community' springs up. With that community comes a sense 'belonging'.
Those of you that still want to 'belong' to GW really need to face facts. All the 'Open Letters' in the world aren't going to make any difference. You've been told. Play GW - as it is - for 2 -3 more years and just wait for GW2. Period.
Me me.. I say - no thank you Anet.
And to Regina I say.. grow a tougher skin. On-line gamers are a different breed of people. Most get very attached to the community they belong to. If you didn't expect to get some nasty comments from folks that have invested a few years in this community, only to be told, 'we're closing the doors', then you haven't been around on-line gamers very long. Get a new position within the company coz CM ain't for you.
There.. I've added my one and only comment to Anet.
So, to the GW community.. stop whinning and demanding a 'service' that you aren't going to get. Buy it, play it, toss it, move on. Enjoy GW. Wait for GW2, if that's your wish.

I agree that it is the problem, but not the way you describe.
Looking at the official wiki, there are Game Updates, which we see quoted all the time here. There are Developer Updates. Same. To find the Journal you mention, you need to click on ArenaNet Interaction, Regina, and then we find, well, nothing newsworthy. Planning for this or the other conference etc.
The reason I asked for a link, is that I thought there was actually something else. I agree this was obvious and easy to find (although I think it is a little hidden beneath what some may assume to simply be a bio page, since you have to click on her name to get there).

I think this has the potential to go not much further, considering the community is just turning on itself now.
