Sorry, but I disagree on pretty much every point.

CONSPIRACY: Sure, A-Net, NC Soft and every other company is out there to make money, but no one is REQUIRED to have any chapter/expansion. I only bothered to cap Ursan on one of my characters and have been able to somehow beat pretty much every area in the game.

Every chapter has "good" skills. If A-Net managed to predict some gimmick builds and seed skills throughout the 4 chapters, kudos to them. You still don't "need" them to play in any area. The UW can be completely cleared without SF. Teams were doing it for 3 years before the overpowered SF.

As it stands, Ectos are still the most valuable material. Sorry they're not 7-10k anymore.

SUPPORT: Frankly, we still get weekly events and frequent skill balances. You may feel that some skills are in need of Nerf or buff, others may disagree. Regardless, GW is a VERY clean-running game with virtually no fatal bugs. Sure, some items clip with my Vabbian armor (curse you) but I rarely get stuck in rocks or have the game completely freeze on me.

DIFFICULTY: Some areas are still quite challenging with no PvE skills. Just because you have a set of crutches doesn't mean you need to lean on them.

GW2: There hasn't been much news lately probably because there isn't much to talk about. the game is 1 year+ away. Imagine a movie you heard hyped every week for 2 years before it came out. No way that movie could live up to expectations. GW2 was announced, basic concepts revealed, then the game goes into a shell until near release. it's a common procedure.

I'm just amazed on the amount of hate i've received just by posting my thoughts on a subject with a (in my opinion) doable solution to a problem.

And if you guys hate my "QQ" thread so much, how come you keep posting on it?

Again, only about 5 posts on here have been even remotely useful, and 3 of them were telling me i was wrong. Not just that I was wrong, but actually analyzing what I said and politely disagreeing with it.

Yes, I read your op in it's entirety. TBH, I kinda want that 2 mins of my life back please You said nothing that hasn't been said a hundred times here before other than calling for a boycott except......

So what you're saying is that you don't actually want to boycott GW2 whenever it comes out, you just want people to /sign a thread saying we will if they don't accede to your demands.....?

While I agree with some of your points, Anet has seen countless posts from countless veteran players complaining of countless things. They've seen countless loyal customers walk already. They've seen countless disillusioned say they are no longer buying GW2. They don't seem to care honestly.

Anyway, while I appreciate your effort here I guess, your effort would be better spent walking down to your local cafe and getting some espresso. At least then you get a reward (caffine) Hell, grab a cookie too

Have we really gotten to the point where we are going to start boycotting VIDEO GAMES? Wow.

You understand that you are more than welcome to go play a game that better fits your needs, right?

You are post number 6 that actually is helpful to the original post. You politely disagreed with me, and told me why.

Part of this thread was to try to get a petition going to boycott GW2, yes. But the bigger part, the one I didn't post about, was to see if people would flame me, or post alternatives to my idea. So far only one person has posted a viable alternative, and that is the no-login weekend.

I respect your opinion, but I still stand by what I said

There's nothing to talk about. Its random topics like this one, back to the Ursan debate, or word games in Odds & Ends. Might need to find a new forum.

Only thing I pointed out was the fallacy of a boycott in this case. That's the main idea of the thread. Dont believe I did so impolitely. It at least was not my intent.

You then gave a bunch of reasons why you're for a boycott. Snow Bunny pointed out the main one I took issue with. The others are game balance or game state issues of GW. Cant really boycott a nonexistent game to fix a steady state one. Boycott GW for a weekend maybe, though honestly, that's pretty unlikely to have an impact either. Anet made their resource allocation choices and circled the wagons.

I'm not sure what you expected, you essentially posted an "I'm quitting" thread, and encouraged others to quit too via boycott. Here's a fun tidbit about "I quit" threads, it might explain why it's hard to take you seriously.

Quote:
The pretend quitting: “This is the last straw. The new updates on the test server are a mockery of everything this game was supposed to be about. If this change goes live, I will be forced to cancel all three of my accounts forever. Since I am guild treasurer, I’m sure most of my guild will quit too, and we’re the only decent PvP guild on our server, so PvP on our server will entirely die out. I wish I didn’t have to do this, but they’ve forced my hand.”

This is a classic. On AC2, I did my best to correlate people who said they were quitting to people who actually quit. Almost nobody who said they were quitting actually quit, and the few who did didn’t stay gone long: they entered a rebound cycle and came back pretty quickly. Most often, they didn’t leave at all.

Here players are using the last ace up their sleeve: they are trying to appeal to the developers’ wallets. But developers aren’t in danger of falling for this gambit. After six months of somebody saying they’re quitting but never leaving, devs learn not to believe anybody who says that. And it’s not like most developers are involved with the money-making operations of the company anyway. The CFO does not read the message boards.

But this is noteworthy because it is a desperate act by a frustrated player. They feel like they have no sway over their game and they care about the game SO MUCH that it’s infuriating. (Most people who quit will just quit. The majority of them don’t even care enough about the game to fill out a “why are you quitting” questionnaire, so they certainly aren’t going to go to the forums to post this information.)

Nope, that's my point. You disagreed with me, but you did so politely, and intelligently. I respect you for that, even if i don't agree with you.
