It's not a patrol people were talking about. Up that little path there is always a lone Stormseed Jacaranda. You did not go up close enough to see it on the mini map. You did not even get close enough to see it using ctrl.

I had the same problem. I had a patrol that took forever to find. I eventually turned around and re-traced my steps. Ran into them almost immediately.
Personally, I loved Vanquishing. Just me, heroes and henchies wandering the wilderness killing anything that moved. I was almost disappointed when I'd finished.

And in this area are mostly absolutely no patrols. All monsters there don't move very far away from some spots. There is no monster there, that likes to marsh from 1 point to another. all creatures there have mostly fix areas, where they stand around.
Uhm, you know, that you can see Monsters and NPC's, when pressing alt+contrl? When not, use it ever, it will drastically reduce the chance, that you will oversee a creature next time and change in the options menu the setting so, that you wil see the names ever with full color, regardless how far they are away from you.

Popups don't count to the total until you pop them, unless they're changed it.

Yeah Patrols are the worst part of Vanquishing. I remember it took me forever and a day to vanquish Vulture Drifts in the Prophecies Desert. There was this one Patrol of Hydras that I just could not find for the life of me. Finally found them to the east and got the vanquish.

I had a few zones like that, snake dance being the worst. Just expand your U map to cover the screen and spend a minute or two carefully looking for any spots you might have missed.

I never quit but I did spend upwards of 20 minutes several times looking for the last group/patrol/whatever.

It never takes me and my friend more then about 10 minutes to find that "one last patrol." You learn how to spot places that they could be after a few maps. Of course it will take longer if you are soloing, but that's just the way it is.

That's a very good idea actually.

I did Anvil Rock once, spent over one hour looking for the minatour patrol group. After running around in circles like an idiot, I finally gave up, left and paid someone to do the zone for me. Now I need 4 more zones(across all continents) to get legendary vanquisher...too lazy to finish though lawl, its been like this for the past two months!

I agree. Unless you spot a group that is abviously a patrol, don't go after the mob groups. If the map is square and I start from the west, I like to go north to south to north, etc...
If I do miss a group, I auto run to "likely" places and press tab repeatedly. I find it less stressing on my pinky :P
Best advice, look at the map and think "if I were a monster, where would I be hiding?" Hehe. Good luck on your future vanquishing if you choose to keep at it

This one made me smile - we had the same problem at Anvil rock - that group of sprinting monotaurs that does the full circuit. You need 2 speed boosts to catch them and what party goes HM vanquish with 6 man and puts 2 speed boosts on a member. After chasing them and failing for about 10 mins we parked 5 members in one spot and I went and chased thier asses clean around the circle. Twas painful, but not as bad as repeating things would have been.

It's not a THEM.. It's just one lone plant by himself and I can see by your travel path that you would not have got him. But hey.. I spent ages on that map too and for the exact same reason.. I thought I had been everywhere but guess what.. I hadn't.
In the area outside Ice Tooth Cave in tyria that has a 3 minator patrol group that run around the whole area. Since they run 25% faster you can't catch them and have to wait for them to do a full lap. Sucks when you don't know that the first time in.. bastards..

The Tyrian desert can indeed be a beast. Huge areas, tons of mobs and many patrols.
I spent more time looking for the last few mobs there than anywhere else.
I really wished that the pets of my heroes could track down the last foes...^^
I know it can get frustrating, but at the same time it is also part of the fun of vanquishing to find them.
