I wasn't expecting there to be a post-party discussion thread, so neither did I.

Was this just spur of the moment and fortuitous coincidence or was it planned out in some back ally fashion?

It was basically a bunch of people who got together, saying "I'm gonna be in ToA laughing at the ursans!" and eventually it turned into a full-fledged party.
Good stuff, really, it's nice to see guru people doing something other than flaming each other

I posted a bit about forming a team in district 2 in Riverside yesterday...the thread's name eludes me. Pretty fun party, though I got bombarded by generic insults from Ursaners simply for playing the violin one too many times. Apparently I'm 'ghey' and 'probably felt teh same wai when SS wuz nurfed'. Good times!
And, of course, I have some pictures:
The party started off very small:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ichi/gw424.jpg
And then quickly skyrocketed:

It was nice to see pseudo-familiar faces in the actual medium we discuss so fervently. I wouldn't mind doing something similar in the future.

@Kratimas - You do know REAL PEOPLE PLAY THIS GAME! The point is someone took that as an offense and got serious about it.
|
Yes, I know as I am a real person
But that is not what I was talking about, but sinse my responce was deleted, because it was of course so much worse then this other rubbish in this thread I guess it really doesn't matter

looks like a fun party, but why are people celebrating class discrimination now?

Because it had stopped?
- DOA HM required, the last I've been there, R10 warriors, dervishes or rangers because they had higher armor. AFAIK they didn't want paragons (useless), assassins (noobs who died too easily), or anything squishy.
- UW Speedclears wanted W/Me Ursans for mesmer mantras.
Facts: Paragons have 80AL like warriors, assassins have 70AL like rangers and dervs, and every class can go up to 70AL as long as they have that insigna which puts +10AL while you attack... forgot the name. Add a shield to that. Necros have Tormentor insignas and not a lot of stuff deals holy damage in DOA.
AFAIK the only place where holy damage is massively dealt in UW is the smites and a terra takes care of that. You DON'T need 156AL (80AL basic, 20 from R10 ursan, 16 from shield, 40 from mantra) to be able to clear UW. I've been in a few groups that weren't too stuck-up to let me in, and even if I aggroed I wouldn't take -that- much more damage, at 86AL basic (70 from tormentor insignas, +16 from shield, so 106AL with Ursan), than the warrior next to me who wasn't even a W/Me.
But PUGs are stuck-up so yes, there was still class discrimination. Even between the ranks it was (c'mon, a R6 within the group will not mess a whole run up!), and people were still reticent in taking R10 mesmers, rits and assassins.
