People are doing this 24/7, where's the problem. The drop is still rare anyway, so this is not really causing issues. Granted onyx/diamonds have dropped - but Granite has gone up. There ya go boys and girls, make your money getting stacks of that
I think Anet will eventually nerf this as it is not an intended part of the game play and it has grown in popularity to such a extent. DOA is dead, so I headed off to Slavers again to do Duncan another 50 times. Soon after arriving at Slavers the VS-Farm Post turned it into VS-Farm City with few dungeon teams.
I and many others are joining in the fun while it lasts. I am sure many folks have more than I, but I am now fast approaching 250 Onyx and 175 Diamonds and still no Voltaic drop. I also continue to have a steady stream of UNID golds. So economy, its been tampered with so many times whether it be Ecto farming, Rapter Farming and all the rest. This seems to be more of a community farm, where the other farms were either single or small groups, this is a whole team of farmers with many PvP players that don't have the right skills for PvE or experience joining in the fray.
I am not interested in titles or the HoM, but in cooperative challenging real player PvE play, so for now this is where the action is in GW, that and maybe still UW and FOW, where you can quickly get into a all human team and begin playing the game.
I suspect Anet will shut this down and folks will move on to somewhere else. I dislike the constant tampering that is done with popular aspects of the game.

Ever since EotN came out and Slaver's stood out as a water down version of DoA. It almost appeared as if Anet created it (together with the destroyer weapons) as a direct response to players QQing about the difficulty of DoA. It is a boring, repetitive, and almost mind numbingly easy to do. Specifically designed for casual players who want to spend an hour doing each dugeon a day and yet feel some sense of accomplishment when they kill the end Boss (lol Duncan).
I don’t think the VS farm will influence the economy that much. It will ,however; be the last nail in that failure of an "elite area" called slavers exile.
If the VS farm killed the economy (trying not to laugh here) what will the Tormented Weapons do to the economy? Players have to pick, HoM with Destroyer weapons (ugly skin imho) or tormented weapons (decent skin, I like the wand and focus but rest I feel nothing, still better then Destroyer crap.)
Everyone takes Necro as secondary and bring a vampiric weapon to commit suicide so they can provide bodies for those on other side of wall.
Arcane mimicry on everyone, BiP on one necro (in place of the HB), bip bip bip bip bip bip bip on the sin, rez scroll on the sin that everyone pitches 10g in for (lol), GG.
I dont think the prices of these high-end items matter to Anet. Look at the elemental and colossal sword for example, once high-end items. The only concern to Anet I think is how easy it is to get a dungeon chest, like the nerfed HoS run.
On a more serious note, Voltaic prices were going down anyway. They don't affect the economy much because their prices were never stable, they're very uncommon drops, and they can't be added to a Monument.
Onyx and Diamond prices were due for a cut. With Torment added to the Hall of Monuments, as of the next update, Destroyer weapons won't be so special any more. The majority of players will attempt to fill their Monument with Tormented weapons rather than Destroyers.
Gold weapons drop fairly fast in individual farms. This is quite a bit faster, but with the majority of people not caring about Wisdom title, and the few people that do care about it needing thousands of golds each, and also the fact that the market price has been established for a long time, it is unlikely there will be any significant drop in the price of golds.
Rarer skins, like Pyroclastics, Amethyst Aegises, Diamond and Iridiscent Aegises, Gloom Shields and Embersteel Blades, are all low end rare skins to begin with. Their change in price is negligible in the economy.
Thread title a.k.a {insert newest known farm/skill/QQ here} affects Guildwars economy
When are the QQ'ers ever going to understand? roll the clock back to the introduction of the 55 monk THAT was turning point #1 add to that the various exploits of the dupers (you know the guys with xxxxxxx ectos and xxxxx armbraces that are simply impossible to have farmed in the time since the release of NF) then add into the equation these tiny little farms and you will see how minimal the impact is from such as the VS farm.
Onyx & Diamonds have dropped in price... so what they were never a currency anyway
VS have dropped in price... again so what, if you can get one cheap then good for you, for those (like myself) that have bought them at higher prices tough, get over it, it happens to all items eventually.
Everytime an economy thread pops up it is basically always a HUGE QQ thread about the latest farm, no one gives a monkey's about the economy in a game that is 3 years old and is on it's last legs, I would say that at least 75% of those ppl playing now are simply biding their time until GW2, once GW2 is released I think you will see a massive poplation drop in GW1.
Until that occurs, a-net will keep throwing us a bone with MOX and HoM updates etc... to keep some type of interest until beta, ppl will keep finding farms and still others will post "open letter to a-net" or "{insert QQ here} is destroying {economy, game, etc...}"
I will say it won't be long at all until you have the chance to cry about the latest farm
Geez. Everything drops in price over time, especially stuff that's farmable. It's normal. IRL example:
I remember when flatscreen monitors came on the market. I paid 750 bucks for mine (19 inch). Now... for 200 bucks I've got roughly the same, if not better. See me complaining? Nah, it's nice that stuff gets more affordable..
Same thing for game items. No need to whine about it IMO.

What's the build to farm flatscreen monitors? Will hard mode yield a 30 inch monitor?
I really don't care if prices drop.
I'm a casual gamer and just got my first and probably only obsidian armor(after three years) thanks to price drops and zaishen keys.
This new drop of diamonds and onyx will probably get me all the destroyer weapons I need for my hall.
GW1 is running to it's end so let the market collapse and let everyone fill their hall and have fun till GW2 is upon us.

Well randy, there are some things i agree with you on, and some things i disagree with you on, and this is one of those things that are inbetween, i agree with the statement about how boring and unrewarding it unless you strike chest luck gold, but the bolded parts of the post are what i disagree with you citing as a problem, first one, about for casual players because of this, the game is MEANT to target casual players originally, so, no reason to hate on anet for going back to their original target audience, and although this is bad news for us hardcore players, having anet ecide on one target player base is better than them trying to give everyone who plays simultaneous handies to try and keep us around, it's less messy. And as for the part about how laughably easy duncan is, yes he's remarkabley easy, but so was mallyx back before they nerfed the door trick and killing duncan is pretty much the same method sans-doortrick, so, the end boss i don't really see as something you should be citing, how crappy and reused the levels are and stuff, sure, agreed.
As for the OP, one answer = cold hard cash don't put any money into anything other than money, hell, when i get too full i'm running on multiple accounts, but one thing i will never do is invest in something, so a illusion of a "economy" is nothing to me, I highly suggest you consider doign something similar, of course i have ectos and braces, but thats cause i farm them and don't sell them, but as for everything else, the best investment is no investment at all... I mean sure, it sucks that dest weapons are going down the toilet, hell i made mine the day they came out, cost me over a mil, but you' don't hear me bitching do yah? having something first isn't paying for the time, it's paying for having it first, thats why it's soo damned pricey, and it's a risk that some one should take into effect when purchasing something.
