Dervs don't need buffs, they're already ridiculous in every form of the game...
Also, you're quitting? Nothing of value was lost.

Yes I know, it's a huge and interesting skill update (tons of buff!) GJ Anet!
but I'd expected some brand new features like tormented weapons in HoM, Xunlai auction house, and first of all Japanese dist integration.

Its not about having strong skills, its about having options because all elite skills SHOULD be effective. The fact is, dervs and paras have the LEAST amount of elites being the last classes introduced, and therefore should have at least received a relatively equal number of skill changes to the others. Not to mention, the changes aren't really buffs.
With an amazing total of 15 elites, There is no room for skills like Arcane Zeal-which is now a pathetic excuse for an Ether Renewal. Period.

It really isn't.
90 damage every 15 seconds plus 10% chance of +900 is the same (through repeated uses) as 90 damage every second plus +90 damage 100% of the time. In short term situations, you might get several +900 hits in a row that do really well. But over the long term DPS of say, a dungeon run, 180 damage (that doesn't ignore armor) every 15 seconds isn't that big of a deal. In comparison, the old Ursan was 150 damage every 4 seconds.
It really isn't THAT powerful enough to be worth echoing if you think about it long enough.
|
But to me, sniper isn't about DPS, it's about gambling for the insta-kill. The damage stinks if you don't get the big bonus. I was hitting elementals in Sacnoth for 34 dmg.

Most of us knew the HoM update wasn't finished for implementation yet, and the Xunlai auction house was never promised in GWI as far as I know.
No idea about the Japanese dist integration though.

I was thinking the same thing. Just reading the posts before I got to the end til I saw this one. I do agree that the Xinrae skills needed a change, but to move them to restoration? Why not keep the previous function and add the protective? Something like for Xinrae's Weapon, for 8 sec, damage reduced to 10% and if that attack was a skill, it's disabled for additional 3...10 seconds, and similar setup with the ashes.
I think that would be better than making another skill like RoF and VW. Too many of those as it is IMO

I'll give it 2 weeks before more QQ about the next Xway that becomes popular. Hopefully it'll be as rigid and discriminating as possible so that I can enjoy the drama that will occur here.

Ok, to all the whiners in DoA, you don't need Ursan. Did a full run with 6 heroes on two accounts. one warrior, 2 imbagons, one ele protector, a hb monk, and a mm. Played as a signet smiter myself, no cons needed. Will post the build later on, but it's 6 o'clock in the mourning here, so I'm going to bed. 8th spot can easely be a mesmer, rit, dervish or a sin, so no class descrimination. And it's almost as fast as a pre ursan team, 25 minutes for city alone. Smiters do double damage in veil. A human team can easely bring lightbringer gaze. etc.
I'm sure others will come up with even better builds.
Good night for now.

I know I personally like the changes - and I wasn't checking out DoA or any of the FoW/UW entrance areas - but I was in Umbral. Couple of whiners, but a lot of people turned up going 'we heard it was nerfed, we're here for the oldschool runs'.

Lolwut.
Then again, shadowstepping has been nerfed so it makes sense to give them something else. I just find it...odd...that they would give this to a class that was originally designed to not be able to use IAS with multiple IAS'es nerfed in ways for the simple reason of making it so sins couldn't use them.
And now they have one of the best IAS in the game in their own primary attribute ? Wow. Hopefully sins will be back in HA meta from this.

The farmers have already adapted, they are switching to solo builds and pulling ecto like crazy again so go cry for another nerf to SF.
To those that complained so loudly to ANET for a nerf (even I felt was needed but never backed it) go tell the people in ToA that are looking for a group how much you accomplished with your complaining.
To those rage quiting, take a deep breath please, relax and don't leave. I know several friends that are putting the final touches on some team builds that look promising for UW speed clear.
Like it or not the elitist on this site need you if they wish to continue playing guild wars.

Hahaha nerf Ursan and the old builds come out, still no one wants to try something new. Thunderclap is effective, but they still ask for nukers. Oh well I guess.

What about the changes to underused elites? Those should see a few more builds, and thus a bit more build variety, coming out of the woodwork.

Strange...
people sit up and take notice of the PvE only skill changes when in fact on the upper end of the ranks of allegiance it did not change. They only changed the lower end of the spectrum for them.
