If you are saying they are PvE (Player versus Environment) then the Environment is other players, thus GvG would be considered PvE???
Somehow the logic of FA & JQ not being PvP does not compute.

Fa and JQ are counted for Cartographer thereby making them pve

Seems like a shaky reason, if any, to call either of those arenas PvE.
I feel that you need to give me a better reason to call FA and JQ PvE when you are fighting versus other players... also known as PVP!

They can also be brought to the zaishen challenge but that doesn't make it pvp

Think RA falls under that category to.
Honestly AB should be called PvWTFARETHESEDUMBIDIOTSRUNNING (yes this is making of bad builds in AB).
But seriously why are the considered PvP they have no PvP aspect aside from maps and killing something.

I think that most definately settles the argument.
Basically this is just an ambiguous weekend, it goes in the semi-regular ambiguous slot and takes up neither of the non-officially-existing PvE/PvP "slots".
Either that or it's both, and everyone gets the right to complain some more, yay!

For those who think it just random, and not assigned on a balance look here:
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Weekend_events
Most weekend follow the pattern of one pve based weekend, and then one pvp based weekend. The deviations happen when special event are involved, these are based on RL date, but these are usually remedied by two pvp weekend right before or after. If you can fallow the pattern, it mean that anet considers competitive missions bonus weekend as a pve weekend. This pattern goes back to June 07, with the exception of two major events, the GW:EN preview/ launch weekends, and the Xmas promotion of GW:EN. Other than these two events, weekend events are not random and very predictable on the PvP side. The order is alwasy HA, GvG, RA/TA, HB, then AB. The only random element on pvp order is the double tournement rewards, but but the last 2 came right after HA weekend, so that might be it newly made order. THe only time there was ever 3 pvp weekend in a row was when competitive missions were in the middle of HA and tournement point weekends.
And this is what leads me to conclude that Anet thinks competitive mission are PvE, and not doubling the Balth faction as well as Alliance faction just supports my claim.
And the best cement for my claim is that I bet that next weekend will be GvG weekend. Wonder what all these people claiming it random would say if i'm right.

For the record: I'm not one of those saying "lol it's random", but "wow I never noticed that before".
Nonetheless, I don't think anything's really set in stone...

Please remove yourself from the game. Kthxbai.
Technically, you are already doing it. By playing only PvP - which is your game - you are removing youself from PvE - which is my game. Isn't it wonderful how Guild Wars gives you options? That's the reason this game was successful. People who ask for one part of it to be "deleted" are asking for ANet to shoot themselves in the head.
On topic: Weekend events are lame. I said it when I was a student with tons of free time and I'm still saying it now that I work a 4 to 12 job with a Monday-Tuesday "weekend." All they do is drive up play numbers in specific areas, which makes someone at ANet feel good about themselves.
If ANet really cared about the game (which, to me, means removing grind), they would make "weekend" effects permanent as Zinger suggests, so that people can once again play the game because they love it and not because of e-peens or HoM.

I'm not saying it does.
I'm just saying your argument isn't a very good one about JQ/FA.

Is this an Abridged Series reference....
I hope it isn't because that will make me feel dorky if it is.
Also no there really isn't PvE/PvP weekend slots though it usually turns out that way and they wind up even, there has been double PvP weekends and double PvE weekends, so.
