LOL, so you shut the main power feed coming into your house when you leave for work? Or do you think your PC is the only electrical item in your house to be able to sense your absence and spontaneously "shortcircuit"?

Hat
Well a Hat is not specifically mentioned in the offical Guildwars statement on their website. I thought they listed them before when they were available?

And yes, they did promise us a hat npc once that should stay for a week after an event ended. Never seen one (I think there was 1 holiday that had one... can't remember).
|
Wow. Just wow...
As fog of redoubt pointed out, there are lots of electrical devices that still draw a charge when you leave your house. Unless you unplug your tvs, clocks, water heater, etc every time you leave your house, leaving your computer on is no different.
Second of all, none of this "they promised it" bullshit. They actually DID have hat NPCs for several of the most reccent holidays (every holiday you need to exchange something to get the hat has this). Just because you aren't aware of them doesn't mean they don't exist. They won't have one for Halloween because that one you don't have to collect any collector item for it.

Eh...so feel lucky that you're getting an in-game celebration for a holiday you don't have?
Seriously, it's all day on Friday. Even if you are afraid of leaving your comp on for fear of burning your house down (*chortle*...), there is no time either before you leave or after you get home on Friday that you can pop on to get a hat?

10 days farming ToT Bags = instant max sweet/party title and a lot of alcohol? Me likey!
I doubt I'll be farming raptors, though. It seems killing something that drops a collectible drop would be time better spent. Charr carvings and termite legs probably do it for me, but I prefer charr carvings because low-level charr also give a good number of minor runes and insignia.

Ummm low level termites do also and there's a couple of places you don't have to roam all over the map to get to a group of 20 slaughter them, zone back into an outpost and back out again. I got over 1800 termite legs last christmas in very short time.

Well, sorry for not having a degree in electrotechnics. No need to flame me hm'kay? I go by the rule: "if you're not sure about something, it's better to be safe then sorry". But thanks anyway for pointing out that the pc is no diferent than other electrical devices. Although that kinda says: if you're worried about electrical fires, you should shut down every electrical appliance... So by turning off my pc's main power I'm eliminating 1 more hazard. (I have those convenient multiple socketboxes with an of/off switch that cuts power to my pc, monitor, speakers, router etc. connected to it.) But during the night should be allright as I'm home then.
I guess I'll have to try and catch the Mad King right after work, just before I leave home fridaynight. I just hope there will be an appearance in that timespan. I just seem to remember all previous years finales being on sunday, even if the actual 31st of october was on a weekday...

I hope they throw in Dragon Arena and Boardwalk for good measure.
Also, might have to follow the masses and go raptor farming.

Decos are up for some time now, looking great as before
gotta love Halloween event.
Anet just one thing to comment on, the bonus mission pack npc's are moved, and they need to stay there, the perfect spot to put them in lions, not in the way and not to hard to miss.
Me goes of to document the entire tombs of the primeval kings outpost, because at this point it looks absolutely AWESOME.
