this doesn't take away or prevent a person from their achievements and respective gw2 rewards.

The armors are only for the character they were created for so I am curious how the weapons will work. I have several destroyer weapons waiting to go in the hall and would rather have them displayed all at once. Even it means using just one character and giving the ones he doesn't use to hero henchies.
Can I put a Destroyer Sword/Shield on my war, a Destroyer Scythe on My Derv, and a Tormented Shield/Bow on my ranger and get all the weapons to display at once?

Now all we need is some QQ threads about how people have filled like 100 HoM with Mini's and Destroyer Weapons...

Your reward should be your own sense of achievement, unless you only did it to make your e-peen bigger and that's all.

You obviously missed the point. The Hall of Monuments isn't about getting my epeen bigger (athough its big before EoTN already ).
Anet established a set of rules at the beginning of the implementation. Some bought into it and accepted the fact that it was the way it is right now, but a majority whined and got their way. The whiners get rewarded TREMENDOUSLY, while those who followed and accepted the rules that were established are getting the short end of the stick.
I'll be one mad power merchant if us that worked on multiple HOMs don't get rewarded. A mad power merchant only means one thing ... higher prices.

While I kinda feel for you, and I am in awe of the time you must have invested to acheive this...when did it stop being fun and become "work"? As soon as it becomes work, you might want to sort out your priorities...Not saying you have no life or play too much (I have nearly 6,000 hours myself)...but if it has become work, you might ask yourself what you were working for. If you expect to be "paid" through in-game rewards...bummer, you just found a new understanding of what it means to be a public emloyee (same medical and everything). Seriously though, while I can see your point of view, I'm sure the majority of us are going to enjoy NOT having to work as hard...Personally, I only have 13 titles on one character maxed, anny more than that and my wife would have left me by now. Overacheivement comes with its own set burdens, one being that when you over-acheive, you will always feel under-rewarded when the reward is the only reason to acheive...no...no...not a Mystery Men quote, but close.

I was like:
OMG!1!1
That's so ... WORD!11!!
And then I was like:
Wait - I don't do titles.
And IF I do them - I pretty much do everything on my ritualist. (Proud owner of 3 maxed titles!!!)
But hey, you don't seem me complaining.
It's the thought that counts!
In a Mari Winsor kind-of-way:
Good job!

Wow! Time to dust off some of my other characters!
I wonder if the KoABD title track will affect GW2... it isn't a "displayable" item in the HoM per se, since it just updates the background as you get further, so I wonder if it'll make a difference.

Oh c'mon now. You very well know that I used the term in the broadest sense. If you think that "working" can't or isn't "enjoyable", then you'll end up in the nursing home quicker than the rest of us. Don't be a hypocrite too, you very well know that you've "worked" for those 13 titles under your belt. We could argue all day on your "overacheivement" statement too.
The argument is simple, a few of us "followed" the rules and because the majority whined, the rules changed and those who followed the rules are getting the short end of the stick. Tell me this, you were caught jaywalking by a cop, paid the fine and the next day you saw the same cop doing nothing to a crowd of jaywalkers. How would you feel?
FYI: 1.4k/21 months of playtime. Programmer/Nurse, wife and a kid and a life. I'm just good at making money than the rest of you plebs.
Wait! There's more! ... Before you open your mouth, please check the definition of the word first and understand the context or the essence ... mmmmkaay? Makes me think you're a pound short of brain matter.

I liked this very much, but it will not give us the total freedom to play with multiple characters like we wanted.
For example, we will not have the option to vanquish one continent with mutiple character (vanquishing half of it with one character and the other half with another).
|
Decent point I guess, BUT I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth.

O.O
For once ANet has done something that no one can argue against being good! Very Nice! Keep this up and the multiple daily insults and QQ threads may be reduced!
Only a few things I say needs to be changed to HoM [a new hard-to-get weapon set with different skins (for those who don't like Destroyer or Tormented)], but hey! This is still an improvement!
Keep listening to what people want, and only go through with what will be good, and GW2 may be bound to sell much more. GG ANet!
Now for the last 7 weapons, they will go on the professions that they belong to!

I certainly meant no offense ...yes I put a lot of time and energy into my titles (sporatically), but it was fun the whole time: especially when I capped my last elite and declaired myself Pokemon Champion to my Guild Alliance! I was just making sure you didn't feel like you weren't having fun...then I'd be really sad for you, instead of feeling the empathetic twinge of regret. I only meant, by overacheivement, that you were far more accomplished than even the most accomplished players I know...seems like it wouldn't be fun...my mistake...as for me? I'm still finishing leftover quests...currently finishing Sorrow's Furnace...I really only play one main character so title farming is something I do when I see it already in reach...hence my "skill" problem (read on...)
As for the cop and jaywalkers, well..I feel like that everytime I think back on the times I went through FoW or UW with PUGs, playing my ranger old-school, and now all the upstarts using that skill (which shall not be mentioned) don't wanna play with me because I have become a noob...I have it, I just don't use it (punchline ---> rank 3, lol...maybe I should farm THAT title next? naw).
As for work, I'm a teacher...you KNOW I wouldn't do it if it felt like work, after all...I'd start expecting to be paid for it and that would just mess up the whole system.
I still see your point of view, but I'm (guiltily) enjoying not having to face the change the way you are...I think I'd have a royal freaking tizzy...good job keeping your cool btw.

Knowing GW1 is in maintenance mode manned with a skeleton crew, I am sure this proposed update will be botched somehow. We have yet to see even the most obvious of improvements (eg. reordering accomplishments) make it in. Somehow this seems like more chaff designed to distract and pacify the masses -- anything to get them to stop talking about Ursan, SF or any of the other problems with the game. If Anet were actually on the ball, this update would have happened in November 2007 instead of July 2008.

LOL. It'll take more than that to lose my cool (the brain matter was said in jest, if you didn't noticed). All I'm saying is, give the few people who followed the rules a cookie or two (I know a few who've worked 2 - 4 HoMs, putting in rare minis), so that their efforts don't go unnoticed. I'm sure, as a teacher, you do understand what I'm saying.
I for one don't really mind, all I wanted was 5 fully decked characters in GW2.
If they implemented the HOM correctly (this is the idealistic programmer in me speaking), a ton of my gold and/or minis would go to various leeche*cough* ... friends and guild members. It would make the experience of building the HoM a lot better.
Now, what can I do to make most of my money back ... hmmmm ... tormented weapons/armbrace anyone? 70e only. x 10

I think they should do treasure & wisdom title account based aswell
I hate always have to switch to my warrior for identifying golds and not beeing able to use lockpicks/key because i have to save them up for my warrior
here's what i think they should make account based: - Drunkard (some ppl use it for their dwarven skills)
- Treasure Hunter (see above)
- Wisdom (see above)
- Sweet Tooth (Some sweets provide a bonus ingame, so every character can use them and they don't have to be saved up for use by a certain character)
- Party Animal (we already have Drunkard & Sweet tooth, so we can just add this one)
- Vanquisher (see above)
Should stay character based: (but can ofcourse be added to account-HoM) - Survivor (unique for the character, accountbased would be to easy)
- Legendary Defender Of Ascalon (unique for the character, accountbased would be to easy)
- Maxed titles (there should be some challenge to gaining r6)
- Sunspear, Lightbringer, Asura, Deldrimor, Ebon Vanguard, Norn (be honest, these aren't too hard to gain, they just take some time)
- Master of the North (the vanquished areas DO count accountwide, dungeons, missions and map exploration is characterbased)
- Protector, Guardian & Legendary Guardian
- Carthographer
- Skill Hunter (so that it won't be TOO easy to get elite and to let elite tomes keep their value)
|
Only things I disagree with on your basis are these:
Vanquishing: should stay character based imo.
Survivor: questionable, account for HoM but character for title wearing is the closest to account-based it should get imo.
LDoA: should be account for the non-prophecies characters. Its not my fault my sin doesn't have that title... *not a QQ, more like a "not very fair" statement, which I suppose can be seen as QQ, so I will say I don't want that title )
For the Reputation titles, they can easily be put into account based, but the tier system would be needing a change.
Other then that, I agree with you, especially on Wisdom, Treasure Hunter, Drunkard, Sweet Tooth, and Party Animal.

Seems to me, that weapons will be added to GW2 based on what weapons are up. Minis and hero armor might be "if those sections are filled, you get bonuses." Its hard to know and of what I get, still being decided fully. It might end up being that you get more benefits for more items, or it will just be for which areas you fill. Not too sure myself.
