I await screenshots. Not as proof mind you, but I want to know how this works before I start fiddling with my Hall.
Nice looking change, thanks guys
P.S. Not cynical, just cautious. Rightfully so?

I wonder how they are going to do the minipet monument...if it will display some mix of the minipets you've already dedicated?
It's honestly the only one I've tried to fill up on more than one character, because it's insanely easy (and cheap) to do so.

there wouldnt be ANY point of any of the titles remaining character based.
why?
because GW2 will allow u to make all ur new characters reap the benefits from ur HoM.........because it transfers account-to-account.
so single character titles//
dont make any sense.
in light of this accout-to-account thing.
THINK about it.

You're assuming EVERYONE plans to hop on the gw2 train. This is a great update that provides more incentive for people to do that, however does little for anyone who ends up sticking with the old gw1.

cool, add a monument/space for gloves and headpieces and ill be happier. The fact that i payed 75 ecto (when they were 5k each from players -_-) for some gloves that people can now farm for in 3 hours is ridiculus. Give me an accomplishment for gw2 so i dont feel so damn bad.

Resigned.

I'm wholly unenthused, mostly because it doesn't matter (at lease for GW1). I'd say what confined people to one character was title hunting, not the Hall of Monuments. What is good about this news is that it's account-wide now, which is of benefit for GW2. Cheers.

if u previous had 3 ancient armors, it'd mean that ud be able to get three ancient armor rewards for three gw2 characters now.
now. ur three ancient armors will count for one ancient armour. BUT, u can have AS MANY gw2 chars with the ancient armor reward.
sounds way better.

First I thought the acc-based HoM would be a separate clean one you would come into or activate and manually put in the achievements you want, coming with any characters you want. This would work with all of the monuments except the minipets one - you can show customized weapons or armors you wear to a fresh new account monument but your minis are already dedicated but not to a specific char or account. And even worse - players often got rid of dedicated minis, so they would have nothing to show. This would require an automatic way of filling the account minis monument, but if a programmer can do that, then changing Treasure Hunter and Wisdom to account-based should be a piece of cake.
Now something to think about: Is the Kind of a Big Deal title going to have any meaning in the account-based HoM, where all achievements can come from different chars?
The title itself doesn't have a statue but it changes the appearance of whole monument, upgrading it in 'ranks' from 0 to 5. But will you be able to bring all those maxed titles from different characters to your HoM to get the effect or you will need at least 1 char with "I Have Many Leather-Bound Books(4)" and fill other monuments however you want to achieve max rank "Honor"?
|
I assume character titles won't be affected. For example if you have five characters, all with one max title each, putting them into the HoM isn't going to give all of your characters Kind of a Big Deal, it just means you'll be able to see each of your characters accomplishments in the HoM.
I could be wrong, of course, but that's my understanding of it.

The HOM Update BLEEP BLEEP
Don't get me wrong, Im loving the tormented weapon updates, but I think a few of us are getting the short end of the stick with the new account-wide implementation.
You see, I have about around 80+ dedicated minis (3 full mini monuments), 25+ dedicated destroyer weapons (2 full weapons monuments), 3 full armor monuments and 3 full heroes monuments. This doesnt doesnt include the titles I tolled on different characters (4 full).
Some of us accepted the fact that the HOM was set up the way it is before the June 24 update, so we went ahead and filled up the characters we wanted to save for GW2. Yes, it wasn't perfect and it really sucked, but Anet should compensate those few people who worked hard. After all, by my count, I spent around 10mil (hard earned, not ebayed or farmed) gold to get my Hall of Monuments where its at right now.
This Bleeping bleep really bleep bleep bleep! Bleepers! Bleeping whiners!
... thoughts? Did any of you completed more than 2 Hall of Monuments prior to the June 24 update? If so, dont you feel a bit cheated and would expect a reward?

No. I didn't like the system so I didn't buy into it.
I see how you would be upset, but you worked for those things in gw1. None of us knew/know how they would present themselves in gw2, and you can't really expect it to turn out your way.
Also, the new system doesnt make your accomplishments on each char worthless, im sure it'll all tie in together nicely.

Cheer up, it's a game Nobody forced you to spend all that pixel money
Your reward should be your own sense of achievement, unless you only did it to make your e-peen bigger and that's all.
