From this, I lost all my faith in Anet. If they bot-they get banned perm, period. Anet is too soft on this issue.

You bot you get banned. I don't thik anyone has a problem with that. Using g15 in a way that Gaile had said was ok, then getting banned? Hardly fair and reasonable. I believe it can only benefit all to review all those banned on a case by case basis. Banning an account for life is a huge thing. I wouldn't want that to be flippant and generated through a flawed process.

A player using a bot on a faction bonus weekend is likely very stupid or doing it for the first time. Why would anyone use a bot in an area that will be overloaded and heavily monitored?

If you don't have Survivor and you're going for GWAMM, a faction title will probably look appealing. Try maxing it with only AB. Boring as Hell and will take you the rest of your life. HFFF is, I'll admit, not exactly a bunch of fun either but it's quicker. I have 25 titles and I'm ready to give up on the Kurzick one at 1.5 million. It's the ultimate time over skill title. Not a lot of fun. Give me 8.5 million faction and I'll happily take a two week ban. I'll never use a bot though.

As to comparing swearing with botting, a complete waste of time. Being banned for 2 weeks for botting is not an argument for a lesser term for swearing. Being banned for 2 weeks for swearing may be one for increasing the bot ban, but I doubt it. If someone bots I will only be effected by the GW economy. If you swear in an outpost everyone in the outpost with local chat on will see it. Which has the greater effect? Personally I liked a well placed f bomb. I don't drop it in outposts in the hope that people it will offend will have the filter on, though.

If out of all this the Faction title is re-balanced, then I'm all for it. While I don't agree with using bots, I'm glad GW are looking at this abuse on a case by case basis. If anyone is ever unfairly banned, it is good to see you ahve some recourse.

It's exactly that attitude that annoys me - If you do something and don't have fun, why bother doing it? It's a freaking game. (I'm speaking as someone who bought a mini Naga for 227e, then seeing the prices go down to 100k+70e 2 weeks after - waste of money but no big deal at the same time, it's a game...).

Just the same as I wouldn't be mad at ANet for introducing a magic Vanquish Everything button. Wouldn't have any challenge, would have long dumped the game...

In all honesty, botting doesn't affect me personally so it's not my own top priority. Unfair, yes, but if you need a bot to do something, it means you don't wanna work for it, therefore shouldn't be able to get the results. I'd be more focused on banning major exploit users, extremely rude people, leechers and griefers.

The only reason people use bots here, is because of the way to achieve the faction. Meaning if you would just disable the use of faction in quests it will just become a (with not that much skill involved, but still not that botable) a PvP title, just like the other titles you generally aren't able to max. By the way, they weren't meant to be maxed.

I don't see how people think it is an achievement that you can do the same thing over and over for hundreds of hours.

So make this title more fun to achieve or make it easier.

All the people that are QQing about how their r12 is being devalued now, i can do nothing but smile at all the hours you put into this as if it means anything.

On topic: Who cares about bots...they're not hurting other players in any way. With regards to HFFF, one would have to bot 24/7 on several accounts for a very long period of time to have even the smallest impact on the GW economy.

Theres enough people that did get the title without botting and after all these years you now decide to make the title easier? There is NOTHING difficult about this title it just takes patience.. and there are people out there that got it by doing AB only..
Also.. the bots probably don't do it for the factions but for the money..

Botting is botting.... I hope if they get caught again they are terminated. Botting is against EULA and should be stopped.

If your prepared to go against the EULA, you have already accepted there may be consequences....

Imo they should be terminated already.. not the next time.
You can't perma ban people for botting and then after 3 years+ of the game you find out the title might be to hard (which it's not) and you think it's 'ok' that the people were using bots for it.
