On topic: Halloween has always offered hats on just one day. This does not mean that the event is not ever changing as they do bring in other features (like it lasting an extra week or costume brawl being added). The problem that occurred during this event: three hours were lost due to server patching. An additional day was lost due to a bug with a DST update. The content that was missed during this time was ONLY the festival drops, the collectors, and the costume brawls.

The solution: Anet came out, said they would see what they could do about it, responded quickly and are giving us over three additional days of the content that was lost.

Analogy: My internet service stops working. I call the provider, they apologize, tell me an error occurred and I am without internet for a day. They then get back to me and give me four days free for the loss of my one day.

Somehow I managed to miss an online sweepstakes two days before the internet went out. It is not my isp's fault I missed the sweepstakes, as such there is no reason they should give into my demand that they find a way to get me an entry into that limited sweepstakes when missing it was my fault to begin with.

LOL GG as i just said in the above post i said that as more of a joke then anything else. also who cares if i said i am going to /ignore this thread. and then start replying to someone who quotes me. i don't think i lost the right to defend my self just because i said that. you are also right i should have just posted in the sugstion forums but seeing as Regina was replying to this thread i wanted to throw my idea out there.

If you have any left over you could save them till the following year so if something makes you miss most of the event you can still claim a hat.

I could see that working as you say people would have the choice then (not sure about 50 as a number as I got several stacks from CB and I didnt do it that much) but a good suggestion to make to Regina to take back to the devs - if not for GW1 then at least for GW2 events.

As I have also said time and again, everyone did have a chance to get the hat per the terms of the event. Those that didnt get the hat made the choice not to - Just as I made the choice to be in Vegas on the Tengu event. You make a choice and stand by it, not run around QQing coz you cant have your cake and eat it.
Its a shame my helpful advice for you to seek help is seen by you as personal attacks, but I shouldnt be suprised I guess.

Should be a stack just like for the Dragon festival hat.

I almost missed out on Halloween this year because of a problem with my internet provider, but it got worked out by Friday evening so I got the hats. Had to Afk for one while we took our daughter Trick or Treating but I got it.

I missed out on the Dragon mask and would like a way to get one, but back on topic.

I think Anet is doing more than enough to make up for the mistake.

We are getting three days of Costume Brawl and ToT drops for 1 day and 3 hours of missed time.

I was going to say 100 to 200 tot bags for a mask but I wimped out and put 50.

I know many people got more I had about 200 left from last year I got another 75 this year.

In normal play you don't get that many and 250 would be tough, you do get around 25 for a Mad King visit/

However I was addressing the problem for those who couldn't spare much time and didn't make MKTs visits.

50 was a compromise esp as there are no missions to gain more like you get at the other festivals.
I can repeat those missions with multiple characters and get many tokens.

Collecting for the mask would be stupid.

The masks are for attending the LIMITED TIME festivals.

THEY ARE FOR A LIMITED TIME.

This doesn't need to be changed, whine like a little girl all you want about "having a life" but if you really wanted a hat, knowing the rules, you would find a way to get one.

Really, that is all there is to it.

I think it would be best if changed to a system where all holiday drops are one collectible item and can be turned in during the event for packaged goods or after the event for the mask. During the day of the mask being given out, it would be free to those that would attend.

Essentially a best-of-both-worlds concept between the two systems we have now, and eliminates the QQing about missing the event and missing the mask.

That would defeat the purpose of the Gods/King/Emperor's visits and how the hats are handed out now.

I got my mask, showed it Hat Keeper... looked at it for a little, then deleted it.
It seems all the QQ is about not having it, but they don't realize... why do they need it at all? All the mask shows is that you were there to see Mad King Thorn (or just afk), nothing else.

P.S. Oh, I gave away my old account (means I lost all my old characters and hats...) and then bought myself a new one (when I returned to GW)... So, I only have this Halloween's masks. Do I consider this a big deal? Meh, not really. I'd rather sacrifice my mask for more funny *new* jokes from King Thorn and such.
