Yes I would. I'd like to note is that if Guild Wars had a monthly, logically it would have even more updates and content. In other words you would be getting more so you would be required to pay more.

No, the only reason I decided on GW to begin with was because of the "no monthly fee". If tomarrow they decided to charge a fee to play I would uninstall and put the whole past 3 years behind me. As for GW2 and a monthly fee... once again NO. I have better things to do with my money then to give it to a company to for a few hours a month of entertainment. Even if the fee was as low as (just a number) $10.00 a month, i would not do it. Thats $120.00 a year, or in my case with 4 accounts in the house...$480.00 a year. I dont pay that much a year for my phone and internet combined. Ill be damned if i will pay it for a video game.

People pay monthly for WoW, and is that game any better? It's constantly compared to a game without fees. A fee also MAKES you committed to a game, something I wouldn't like.

I will not ever pay a monthly fee for a video game. Bad enough I shelled out 2k for my machine, 50 bux a month for fast inet, $200+ for gw and all expansions + other games. Ive spent enough on my gaming hobby, an added monthly fee would be a unacceptable.

Possibly, for a bunch of reasons listed above me (game content, balance, etc) I would only play one pay-to-play game at a time though, and at the moment the leading horse for my gold is the KotOR MMO, so for me GW2 would need to be pretty damn good if it wants my money

some good questions
1. if i had to pay for gw2, it better be helllaaaaaaaaaaa good. good thing its not, so we dont have to worry about it
2. maybe, new content would be nice, if they added it so often, maybe like 9.99 a month lol

I've paid for wow and warhammer and they pale in comparison to GW1 in both pve and pvp so I'd have to say yes. If GW2 remains true to its roots then I'd be happy to pay for it, if it ends up being another generic MMO clone then probably not.

-Cough- I BOUGHT Guild Wars, I didn't RENT it, why should I pay a monthly fee? Why should anyone EVER pay a monthly fee for a game they bought? "To keep servers running?" Okay, fine, but if I BOUGHT the game, it better damn well have an offline, non-server portion of it that you don't have to constantly pay to play. I'm not buying something that I have to pay more for to play, kind of defeats the purpose of BUYING something, doesn't it?

Since I can't see GW2 being any better than GW1 (But, but!!! Zera, you can jump!!! Bugger off you stupid twat, all this 'Z-axis' interactivity gimmick crap is going to get you is another level of rubber-banding to piss you the hell off) I won't even touch the game, no less pay a monthly subscription for it. But since they've publicly announced that the game is NOT going to have a subscription fee, it would be pretty dick of them to impose one when the game comes out.
To sum up. Short answer: No. Long answer: Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooo.

Depends. Only if it is worth it - but after beating it and getting all the in-game lore info I need, I'd probably stop paying and only have contact with the Forum Lore community. Only thing to keep me paying after that would be constant (like weekly or so) new content.

I would certainly hope it would! More money for them=more staff to hire=more things done. If there was no new content, I wouldn't even buy it.
Overall, highly unlikely if there were to be a monthly fee, which they said there won't be.

I think willingness to pay a monthly fee is directly related to the amount of time a person plays a game and the enjoyment he gets from it.
Currently I don't play much, so I wouldn't pay a monthly fee, but a year or 2 ago I played quite a few hours per day and enjoyed it greatly; during that time, I definitely would have paid.

I would probably buy a lifetime subscription, like Lord of the Rings Online offered during it's launch. Would sum up to about $200, which would be 20 months of a $10 fee. After that, you would be free to play (excluding any expansions). If Anet wouldn't offer such a bargain...I don't think I would get myself involved with GuildWars 2.

Paying to play a game online? Not a chance.
