once i read this, i'll give all my golds that aren't useful and not worth really that much away to new players!
i've played through the whole game with PUGs, it makes you a better monk, believe me. and i've never gotten any real help, and that's ok with me

I'm sitting around Beacons the other day, just sort of watching the flow of traffic with my #3 character. And this person I directed to the Krytan Ambassador like 3 months ago whispers me about what I'm doing. I tell them I'm debating about gettin #3 run to droks or going the long hard way via missions.
The individual, ports themself to Beacons and offers me 4k to pay for the run. (which I didn't need, the debate was on issue of game play for me)
But I appreciate the offer.
On the issue of giving stuff away: I look in Ascalon for a low level character then whisper to see if it's a first time in post sear. Those players normally are very thankful for stuff.

Anyone that has read any of my posts knows I'm not generally a person to dole out compliments unless they are due but I just got done with a tombs run and this had to be the absolute coolest group ever. I usually don't get squat from the Darkness but this time I actually got Bulwark and then promptly died. Now a lot of people would just let me stay dead and snatch my bulwark but this group actually ressed me, congratulated me, and held off an enemy swarm they accidentally aggro'd while I got my drops. It was a PUG too. I was impressed. Definately the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me in this game. I hope the people responsible for this read this forum. I can't post names but you guyys are definately awesome. I wish I had had a chance to add you all to my F list before the group disbanded. I really wanted to hand you all some goodies from my stash just for being so incredibly decent and honest.

When I was in pre searing for the first time with my warrior I joined a guild, wich I'm still in, and there was this guy in the guild that helped me almost through all pre searing, telling me lots of tips and stuff, told me how to get armors().
Well, then shortly after that he left the guild to help his friend with another guild...

Okay, I did make it seem like I didn't do anything for a long time..but once I realized henchies could really be used I could do everything myself. I had heard Glint was this impossible thing to kill, and ended up beating him with a smiter guildie and henchies..etc. I also used a 14-20 FDS well past ascension.
Anyway Ive been working on returning the favor anyway..Ive powerleveled two of his characters, helped him make a 55 after I had made mine, and I help with anything else that might need to be done.
Other than that though, I don't interact with people much (I don't run anymore and use henchies mostly for missions/quests) so I don't get to see the good/bad of people usually. Someone did offer to pay me for a free run though, which I consider pretty nice anyway.

I read threads like this in humbled awe - its a refreshing change to see how many good people there are, especially given the fact that the majority of the "press" goes to the jerks, twits, morons, etc. Threads like this certainly help to reinforce the more positive sides of the game.

Nicest thing done to me by a stranger was having a very pleasant warrior run me from Yaks to Ascalon City, alone, for a ridiculously small fee.
Nicest thing I've done is teach a Wammo n00b about the game. I met him in some Ascalon town and I helped him clear a mission with my lvl 18 Bone Fiends. He's still pms me and currently sports 15k Dragon's armor.

I'd have to day the nicest thing that happened to me...
Well I was doing a droks run for tips and this level 20 W/Mo says he needs a run...
OK
So he ends up doing the end of the run for me after i lagged and died twice and when we zoned into droks he paid me 10k 0_o. No idea why, immediatley after he signed off.
My friend who quit GW gave me 100k =)

Well. I have played this game a while, and have met a lot of nice people. I'll just post the most interesting ones.
While I was attempting to complete the "Heroes quest" (?), anyway the one where you need to get to Destiny's Gorge, Seeker's Passage, and umm. The other one. Anyway, I was looking for a run to Destiny's Gorge, and all of a sudden, this lvl 20 wammo PMs me and says he'll run me. I said I couldn't pay more than 500gp (I had just bought a sigil for my guild), and he said that was fine, he'd do it for free. I talked with him the whole run from Augury, and when we got there, he gave me a Vampiric Long Sword of Swordsmanship (16% chance) 3/1. Stupid me, being a still n00bish person, sold it to a player for 800gp, but it was still cool.
Then, while I was doing Abaddon's mouth, we got into a conversation about money, and the lack (in my case), or abundance (in another's case) of it. One guy was wearing 15k drags armor, and he said he had 15k armor on all his chars, and 320k in storage, and nothing to spend his money on, and I, half jesting, said "well, if you ever want to give ME some of that..."
He opened trade, and gave me 20k. I thanked him profusely and friended him. Unfortunately, he hasn't been on in a while.
Because of these things which have happened to me, I try to be nice to others. Once I ran a guy from Ascalon City to Yaks alone for free, just because I felt generous. I love running new players places for free too. I also help out my guildies a lot. I estimated what this one player owes me, if I were to make him pay me back. I think it was somewhat like 40k
But I enjoy being nice, so no worries.

The significant other met this really nice Turkish fellow on one of his runs and we eventually became good gaming friends with him (still to this day). He gave me The Kindlerock and Rago's Fire Wand just randomly one day while we were joining him for a mission (I think it was for THK). Told me "Your weapons bad. Take these so we don't die." I thought he wanted them back after the mission but he told me to keep it.
Another time I was monking on Villainy of Galrath mission as the only monk and the guys actually were appreciative with the occassional thanks. At one point one of the warriors opend a chest and got a gold holy staff and gave it to me. He told me he would never make a monk to use it and didn't want to bother selling it. It was a was a req 7 healing with 17%/18% on a skill with a +4 energy and +25 health. I nearly fell out of my chair.
So yeah, there are some really cool people on GW. Gotta take the jerks with the nice ones.
