wow.I must say...ive been waiting for this exciting update a long time now,but what did I get..well..2account based titles which are really good...but about the kurzick title, did anet think thru this before they implemented it....they nerf hff and they add more books..gg on anet..is like I gotta do all missions in cantha and stuff to obtain kurzick faction...and about the bounty for kurzick..srsly?so basically they added 2 account based titles and they make kurzick/luxon more grinding..like wtf..and it seems this update is more about kurzick/luxon,must be the baddest update in gw history in my opinion....thoughts anyone?

It wouldn't have worked.
I have lost count of the amount of threads I have seen requesting anet to say what the updates were....
People like you prolly make anet think they can't win what ever they do :/
On the subject of the updates, I think they're pretty cool.
Been playing this for well over 2 years and this is the best update imo.

Here's a thought:
Instead of flagging heroes and botting for faction we can now play and gain big amounts of faction while playing.

If it is the case that you can't buy pages for missions already completed I want to add my comments to those protesting the fact you can't buy pages. Those of us who invested time and energy getting the mission titles should be able to get the books filled. Ok, perhaps you could increase the cost of buying pages so that the net money benefit wouldn't be that high for a period of weeks, but otherwise it seems very unfair to me - we should get the non-money benefits at the very least!

+1 . Or even 0 gain , just the faction reward . If u get points now for completing the missions with extra u should be able to fill the books with the NPC .

Wow. That update sure seems to do a lot for making Vanquishing more appealing, and also Challenge missions to a certain extent. Mission replayability is also going to go back with the introduction of books to each storyline, so it shouldn't be as hard to get groups in missions for a while.

We shall all start petitions so that GW1 revolves entirely around ME, ME and ME, what I do, what I think and what I want. My time and energy is much more important than the time and energy that people will spend now on new books. And as everyone knows, time works both ways and we can simply ask Anet to reverse time and see what I did, and give me credit for it. I mean, I paid for this!

its like anet forces ppl who are going for the title do vanq, and the books, its like dont we have enuf books in gw already, primaris, dungeons, mox+and now missions. People shouldnt be forced to do missions and vanq to get more faction for the title....its the biggest crappyiest update ever, thats what I think...I dont really care,I dont need the title so,but it sucks for other ppl.

Anet does not force people to do anything. The only thing which was changed is that instead of planting flags for kurzick people would have to play the game by doing missions or vanquishes to get them. The SS/LB gaining possibilities were increased same for Gwen titles. There is absolutely no need to have a single book in this game. It is just an option. This update will also fill in the mission outposts a bit. So what is your problem there?

Learn to read please. I did NOT say "in every area you can VQ 200 enemies in under 35 minutes".
I said IF you can VQ an area of 200+ enemies in under 35 minutes, you're ahead of the old HFFF from the VQ alone. This IS a fact. I can state it like a fact, and I know it.
Some areas are indeed harder than others but generally, it's not that difficult to VQ at such a rate. And in any case even if it's a slower area, you're still likely to come out ahead of HFFF.

Fril, your attitude has always been that of supporting A.net in everything they did, and to shut down every kind of criticism from the community.
All that comes from A.net is pure gold for you, and every time you start a new crusade against those who criticize, contempting them in a very bothering way.
I'm just disappointed from this update, because A.net spent a lot of work and time in it, and they basically failed in addressing the real issue of Kurzick/Luxon titles and gwamm, which is the absurd amount of grind required.
In my opinion, they wasted their precious time.
And I have no reason to QQ, because I have r12 kurzick and gwamm. I know the meaning of grind.
Nevertheless, I disagree with their work, they put a lot of effort in it, introduced several new things, but they didn't address the real problems.
Few things are let's say nice, but they didn't substantially change anything, so it's a pity for so much time and work wasted.

If your post was deleted once, why repost it. Clearly it wasn't worth posting in the first place, which is blatantly obvious by the content.

Beat me to the reply, but said what I was thinking. As for the update, for a player of mundane ability such as myself, I say thanks for the long hours it must have taken you all. Good job.

No it's not, on both accounts. What puts me off is people coming here with this "I-complex" that because I (or me and my friends) did this or that, I should have this or that. But it's been a very long while since someone called me fanboy! ;P
I didn't like the move to the new community management system (both the new CM and the wiki discussions), I didn't like and still don't like the grind, I don't like their lack of support for PvP (despite not playing PvP), I dislike how they've only put the brilliant Linsey alone in charge of redesigning GW1 while moving all ressources to GW2, I don't like to have to wait so long for GW2 info (but I'm patient). But there're much more things that I dislike on the part of our community (I'm not perfect and deserve criticisms whenever you see reason to voice one, but that is not one). And I do like this update, as a few people said here it's nice and it shows things are moving the right way.
I don't like whining and moaning on Guru, and I try not to do that, but instead create interesting and "positive" discussions. But this time, for this comment, I wanted to voice my opinion, which is my right.

Fril Estelin as fanboi? Oh boy, did I miss something? Was he dragged to Anet HQ and brainwashed? Did aliens do that?
It's only natural that people crusade against community members that ruin thread by drowning legitimate complaints in their self centered whining.

new update status
Hello
I currently have 26 maxed titles, on my main charcter which is a female ranger, i got all the protector, guardian and vanquisher titles , to include the cartographer titles, just need 4 more titles maxed for my 30 maxed god walking amonag mere mortals, i can see the benefit of treasure hunter, and wisdom being account based, that definetly helpd me alot on possibly having a chance a maxing those 2 titles, but in what way this update benifit me, how would fillling up books help me out, i already put in the tidiuos hours of grinding, areas for my titles, while others will have it easier, i have been sitting on 26 maxed titles for a year, and still working on my last 4 titles, i be seriously lucky if i can get them before Gw 2 comes out, what is in it for me, and what about all those who got there god walking among mere mortals before even me, how are they benifiting from these, seems to me Areanet is trying to safe the game, and not lose players, before Gw2 comesout, they would be better off with another expansion or bonus mission pack.

Funny ppl that complain about ppl being selfish .... its not about that , its about getting the same credit for the SAME work that other ppl can do from now on. Is it fair that someone got Leg Guardian 1 week ago doesnt get anything and someone that achieves that title on December should get lots of rep ? dont think so .
For the Haters , is not my case ^.^

LoL first chill and LEARN TO READ and comprehend, i agreed that VQ is ahead of the old HFFF and never said that it wasnt like that so stop trying to make a point there against me. You stated 200+ foes under 35min like a fact against the other guy and its over. Ofc u didnt say that was in EVERY area ..... its like you dont say 4 but instead say 1,2,3...5,6. 200+ could be 220 or 290 , and under 35mins can be 34mins or 29. Accuracy.com
Bleh nvm , nonsense answer , i wont reply u anymore , already made my point long ago.

Ok, this is what I hate about these forums - the repeated attempts at censorship by certain people whenever there is criticism of ANet.
I DID buy this game so I have a RIGHT to complain. If you don't like that, move to China where criticism is dealt with by arrest and re-education. If you want to stay put in the free world, learn to deal with POV that you don't agree with.
More importantly I am NOT THE ONLY PERSON to raise the issue. When does a part of the community get big enough to ever have the right to complain about something in your book - when you're included?
