In other words, i have the right to do whatever the hell i want to do until it infringes on the next persons rights to do whatever the hell they want to do.
So if someone wants to name their character "Buck Futter" then whoopde freakin do. It doesn't hurt me or diminish my rights to do what i want. But like you said, you don't report people because you are offended by it. You report people to try to flex some sort of authority over another. Otherwise you would just let it go.

Ya i know the type. When i was a kid my aunt wouldn't let me watch Smurfs because she said it was satanic. Now granted that is probably a little overboard for A11Eur0's scenerio but it is still in the same ballpark.
Because people are going to be who they are regardless of outside influences. Ive been a non-conformist ever since i was shitting in my diapers. And the only thing that the conformists did to me growing up was make me even more of a non-conformist by trying to tell me how to conduct and where to walk and how to speak.

Ah, someone who believes in nature rather than nurture, very interesting, i respect your opinion but have to disagree, i believe the way people are treated shapes them, but sheltering them from the real world is worse than helping them to learn to accept it.

An actual serious, well-thought-out response from you...congrats. See here's the thing: I see a name that I view as being offensive. I think that there might be other people out there who might be offended. I report hoping to save them the trouble of having to read it. Might sound like BS to you but it's one of the reasons I report that kind of thing. Buck Futter....don't think I'd report that. Then again, if the dude is being a twit in local chat, I'll probably report him for both, just because the reason is there. There are a bunch of names that I could report but I overlook, I guess I need to be in a certain mood to bother with it.
Oh well, the only people getting hurt by my personality are the people making the names...the potential number of people being hurt by your name is much higher. That's how I see it. Arguing this is pointless, children will always get butthurt because their fun was ruined, I'm not going to stop doing what I do...just when you make a name, you should be prepared to deal with any consequences that might arise, because you're still under the jurisdiction of the people who run the game, and if they feel the need to one-shot ban an account for 3 days for a report...they have their reasons. It's liability.

And those who see themselves as adults will always get buttherd by seeing others having fun that they try to tell themselves they are "too mature" to participate in. When really the thing they truly wish to do is let the kid out of themselves and stop being a day to day robot cubicle dweller.

I dont totally believe that nature has everything to do with a persons evolution. But i think it has a lot to do with it. Like Zodiac sign/genetics will make you prone to certain tendencies (like a template), but your upbringing instills your values/morals.
For instance, My family always tells me that they could already tell that i was going to be mischievous/troublemaker from 6 months old on. But if it hadn't been for my grandmother, the morals i have today might be completely different.
From something as trivial as if i hadnt been homeless for a year in Colorado i might not have the same appreciation for any and all foods. (I used to be picky)
it goes without saying that i very well likely would not be successful today if it hadn't been for experiences in my past, but my core has remained the same since birth.

That would be my main mantra in life.
"I will never grow up, Im a toys R Us kid"
And the fruits of my experiences have proven that you dont have to walk around with a puckered cornhole to be successful in life. You dont have to take everything seriously to be taken seriously. You can take everything with a grain of salt and live a healthy happy life. And most of all, you dont have to live in the box your whole life just because its "safe".
When a person stays on one side of the fence, they cant see whats on the other side. Me i like to sit on the fence so i can see both sides. Or when you live in a fishbowl, your view of the outside world is distorted.

I don't believe in the whole zodiac signs thing, but i can agree with a majority of your philosophy, being a street punk for a little while opened up my eyes quite a bit as well. It makes you realize that material things are only material things, and that they don't matter, and it's people around you that make you richer, not money.

I agree with this

And i halfway agree with this. True, good friends can make you rich spiritually. But Money will make you rich too if you have enough of it. I realize that friends will always be an abundant commodity for me just because of my personality and thats how its always been for me(I make friends too easily), but after living in the park and eating at the soup kitchen i realized that in order to not have to struggle to stay afloat as i get older i need to paddle like hell right now so i can get far enough ahead to where i don't have to swim later on.
It took me losing all my money to realize the value of it. Maybe i would have to lose all my friends to understand the true value of them, but i could never see that happening.

This.
This single sentence caused a revolution. All stupid names and stupid act has completely stopped. One person was able to change the community as a whole. The Internet has become mature. The emotion which we call "humor" has been erased from the humans.
In short: No one cares about you say. Nothing is going to change. Enjoy your stupid names/acts in the future. I'll enjoy my stupid in-game names.
If reporting is the way you have fun, then so be it. Even if people are warned, people still make their own choices. This argument is futile but if you want to elaborate any longer, please do so.
What are you trying to accomplish from this argument? The only thing I can think about is extending your e-peen size. If you were intelligent, you will know these types of arguments are completely ineffective. Congratulation. You accomplished nothing!

I've accomplished entertaining myself on a very late insomniatic night, which is all i TRULY set out to do, and the greatest arguments are those that are futile and pointless, because they never end, and everyone is is wrong.

I'm stupid for reporting offensive names? How so? How are offensive names humorous? You find humor in a character named X Hershey X Squirts X? If that's even a possible name. If so, then you sir need to grow up.
|
First, I think that name is too long. Second, I don't find that humorous. But there are some possibly offensive names that are humorous, and I didn't mean offensive names are humorous, but that some stupid names are humorous. Third, I consider your guru name stupid because it goes with "leet" speak.
I am curious as to what your in-game name is though, so I can see if you're just trolling. I suspect it's a stupid name too.
-ignores all the other arguments as I don't have patience to read two pages-

It can be offensive in ways such as this:
"Hey, I'm fat and he's calling a skinny character fat! I'm offended" /report or "Fat men can't teleport!" /report
Or something on those lines.

First, I said that I'm not sure if you could even make that name. So yeah, I know it's probably too long, but the point was made. Secondly, sure you don't. Then why are you arguing? You find offensive names humorous. Why would you laugh at a name that's possibly offensive if you understand the point behind the offensive name(thus making it humorous)? Third, I was using this guru login name a long ass time before joining Guru. I made it because it was unique. It's not leet-speak, it's just a combination of numbers and letters...I didn't abbreviate and substitute other letters in such as "i haz dlishus fudz". Which, I'll say, is retarded.
And I'm curious what's preventing you from looking 3 inches to the left and reading my character name.

Uh oh...some kid on the internet called me a moron, probably because he can get away with it. It must be true. Whatever will I do?
So if I look up "leet speak", the definition will be specifically "A11Eur0"?
