Well I personally am going to report anyone I see no matter what the name JUST TO SEE if one report can actually ban someone.

Sorry but let me clarify because you might be misunderstanding. Dick is actually a common first name. Second, seaman; in Commonwealth context it refers to the lowest rank in the Navy, followed by Able Seaman and Leading Seaman, and followed by the Petty Officer ranks.

You do realize that you are being the thing you detest about society, right?

While I personally hate names that are not real names (i.e., things like "I Wammo" or "No Heal For Uz" etc., etc.) and dislike names that come straight from common fantasy/anime references (i.e., Legolas, Aragon, Naruto, Lockhart, etc., etc.), I do not go reporting them because I am offended by other people's stupidity and inability to make a real name.

If you absolutely love using the /report feature, and you get a sense of accomplishment from it, you need to find yourself a hobby aside from video games. Also, I think there are people who dislike their character name, seeing how the name reporting system seems to be botted, you can probably make a good fake income by offering to /report character names to those who don't like their names for money - that way you can get your sense of accomplishment, worthless money, and not make others hate you.

While on the subject I think Anet deserve a 3 day ban themselves for the NPC in Kamadan called Bendah.

Which "to use their rules" is another way of calling someone Bender. Now this used to mean someone who bends things or as an online slang dictionary says:-

[i]bender - this term can mean a drinking spree, or a gay bloke (in the latter case, short for 'gender bender'). [/b]

Now if they were to apply the same rules they should change the name of that NPC as It could be offensive to gay people.

Im fully aware that i like to take the role of "Devils Advocate" so i expect to be disagreed with. Sometimes I (believe it or not) take the opposing side just to stimulate critical thinking whether i feel strongly about the subject or not.

ok let get back to the topic. What about naming a character after somebody who was in the navy but is no longer. He could be named Discharged Seamen because that is in fact what a person is who was in the navy buy no longer.

"My friend Richard was an active seaman while he was in the navy, but now that he is out of the navy he is just a Discharged Seaman"

Ok, but the thing is this is guild wars; not society. In society, a mere offense isn't justification for an act or words to be illegal. It is still unjust to deprive some people of liberty even if the majority of society finds it to be disgusting, and wants it to be illegal. Besides, society already bans certain words in public, but those words aren't illegal and nobody gets fined or jailed for saying those words [unless, of course it's life threatening to the president]. Oh, how arbitrary.

Don't use names that could insult people. There is children playing this teen rated game. Still, why pick a stupid name? For laughs? Who here goes around a town hoping people will see their name and go "lol, your name is funny."
It's stupid and immuture, might as well run around school in your underwear. Sure it MIGHT be a "lol" but it lasts for 2 seconds. But the people at school will think your immuture and won't want you to be their friends.

Immuture names are a grasp for attention. The 2 second "lol" really is a poor way to stand out. PvP bad names are almost a insult. For example I go around AB with a toucher team and /flex on the bodies, the person sees on the screen "Toucher Raper flexes".

My last Guru name was fluffy butt, which I called my cat. I decided it is immuture and should disappear.
