I guess the fact that this request comes up at every wintersday event and most other events mean that Anet knows how to throw an event.
It gets rather tedious to see the threads every event tho.
Sadly i have to say i have not participated in any of the event activities this year, not because of the lack of time but because of the lack of interest.
I don't even know if they added new quests etc, but i was to lazy to even find out, which i bet i will be regretting in a month or two when everything have been like it always have for a while...

Yes I am obnoxious, just like the game has become for MANY MANY people.

On december 26th Gaile said that she didnt know about the polar bear rumur.

I wasnt there to hear her discuss it but that could mean many things but it was on wiki and on official wiki up to the last day that it was a rumour until the one guru thread where Gaile did come in and confim that yes polar bears did exsist and then she also added that they where there the full 12 days.

If it was on wiki, it had been found, and Gaile comes in and says its not real, then FIVE days later says my bad it was there, and continues on about the team and all that crap..

Point 1. Who really cares if the team knew or didn't know of the existence of the polar bear?

Point 2. Yup. You're right, if you can actually win HoH, then you have a chance all year round to get a ghostly hero, but considering the amount of low and no ranked players that complain about not getting into a high ranked group, then your odds are about the same as getting the polar bear were/are. There are other minis that are limited in number and could only have been obtained once. Just not to the point of the polar bear.

Point 3. I followed the mini polar bear thread until closed. After witchblade asked about it, Gaile confirmed it. Why must Gaile confirm something before it happens? Surprises are nice.

Um yes that minipet was awarded while the festivities. You try and get one right now. You can't because it was only available while the festival and you needed to complete a festival quest to have a chance to get it. Thus its a festival item. If you can't get it outside of the festival itself that means it is part of that festival.

Btw if ya going to quote a line and say I said something dont just quote the part that will help yourself but the whole line because at that end of that line it stated a quest that was part of wintersday.

Being an avid conspiracy theorist BP, one thing to mention here is if you dont have a reasonable motive, you do not have a conspiracy. I can not think of any valid motive behind this whole polar mini thing (what they did it just to piss ppl off?)

the minipet was not awarded during the festivals. It was not part of the quest reward in itself.

tell me where in here does it say the chest is even part of the reward for the quest?

The chest spawns like any other dungeon chest spawns. upon completion of the quest for that dungeon. It is not part of the quest itself, but a reward for finishing the dungeon.

I dont think they ententionaly said hey lets jerk these people around. I just think there was a lack of communication that ended up that this happened. Nothing much we can do about it.

Plus who knows maybe they are working on something to try and sort of even this out.

I didn't even try to get it. Why, I am not grinding anymore than I already have been forced to for titles that make a impact in the game play. The Dev's wanted it to be a surprise, great, they got that. it was a GREAT surprise, but once the suprise was found, what was the point of denying it? Why not say then FIVE days BEFORE the end of the event that it was true.

Like I said earlier, I am on these boards because I am not on the game anymore.

I LOVED GW, I loved the play, I loved the graphics, and was appreciative of the events. Then came the nerfs, you know the ones in favor of PvP to hell with PvE. Then came EoTN and I got screwed on that too, after days of fighting with tech support over my video card that was supported by CORE installments of GW was now not supported by a EXPANSION pack.

I'm tired of being RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOed over by ncsoft and ANET. So yes I am going to tell you were I find flawed logic and favortism.

Again I tell you I could care less if I own a polar bear, find a polar bear or sell a polar bear. I think it was unfair to deny the exsistence of the bear once it was discovered.

You can't see the logic there, then thats your problem.

I know what I write here makes no diff to game development, I know that it wont change what I would like to see changed. But I belive in speaking up. So there you have it.

I just want to add that the current "solution" is ridiculous. If the event NPCs are gone, why are towns still decorated? Did Grenth really win this year, stealing all the quests and leaving the players with just the snow?
