Humm.. I have purchased Prophecies + 1 Million Edition, Factions, Nightfall, Eye of the North from store... So it is quite impossible for me to obtain this summoning stone anymore?!
Would be nice if BMP, and perhaps character slot or other add-ons can be considerred.

...

So if I am reading this correctly, you can only get the imp if you purchased from the online store.

I'm sorry, I try not to subject myself to online identity theft as much as possible, and prefer to go to an actual store and look real people in the face and hand them cash.

Silly me, I guess no fire imp.

survivor itself is easy enough

no challenge in the game anymore

Here's another fun thing to try with this update:

Monster-free mapping:

Edge of the world baby!:

Before you laugh at the build, it's just something I toyed with while capping sin skills. The only skill you need is [Recall] - it's the same kind of deal as with Eredon Terrace. Pets seem to get stuck on the wrong side of the golems guarding the exit, so I used Recall on my pet - but it works just as well on the golems!

Have fun...

(Edit: Recall, not Return)

Here's a question, if someone can get a character from 1 to 20 (With Max armor) within a couple of hours by making a NF character, getting a run from Kammy to Docks to LA, using the gate trick at D'Alessio and then dwarven boxing at Gunnar's Hold, what's the point of these stones and the fire imp?

Mox looks cool. I do use dervy heroes at times, so should be fun to have a golem around. XD

As for the Imp...nice idea! But I'm just sad that it's very unlikely I'll ever use it as I already have all my chars at 20.

Meh,

Quests were fun, enjoyed the free added content.

MOX and Imp are dumb, though neither will ever be in my party.

But the imp is at your own level so...

The question here would be, "does the death of the imp give xp to the charrs?"

As a summoned creature it should not. However, the guild wars announcement calls it an ally - so it might.

If the charr do get xp from its death then you could "death level" the charr using the imp and simply summoning a new one to die every 60 seconds instead of having to die yourself.

Since I can not get the imp, i can not check it out.

Anyone with an imp in presearing willing to try death leveling a moa with the imp to see if mobs get xp from its death?

If it does give xp then it is possible to obtain both LDoA and survivor on the same character.

In which case I will be really ticked off that I can't get one after all the cash I've given ANet over the last couple of years. Otherwise I don't really care since all my non-perma-pres are level 20 already and I'm not going to start one of them over just to get an imp anyway.

I do, however, like the golem.

The Fire Imp only being available to under level 20 players is a bit of a letdown if you ask me.

Otherwise, I like.

That's what I was saying. Nice update and everything but it just seems like 2/3rd's of this update is more for new comers which, let's admit there's not a lot of nowadays!

I'm waiting to hear the screams about "the complete destruction of the unique Pre economy" because the Imp is making it possible for lower level chars to farm Charr. The only thing left will be the service economy, unless we can teach the Imp to open the gate and destroy that, too.

Oh, and I also predict claims that Legendary Defender has now been completely devalued by making it easier to level, so ANet might as well have handed out un-nerfed Ursan to all new players along with the Imp.

Edit: Seems I missed a couple of posts, and the discussion has already begun.

@Tom Swift: You can only summon the Imp once every 60 *minutes*, not seconds. So it would be horribly slow -- to say the least -- to death level a moa using an Imp.

Once you get to high enough level, the imp and you will pretty much kill everything in the northlands. The only worry would be making sure you got it killed before you started pulling the mobs to the shrine. Cos although the charr are lvl 8, Impy will happily kill them, which means XP lost after you've leveled the charr.

From a test in pre-sear earlier, he doesn't affect XP gained, and doesn't affect drops either.

So he'll be useful in clearing the various patrols out of the way, and useful after a death leveling session (them 4 bosses haz some phat lewt, so U and Impy should still pwn themz). But during a death level session.. er no not really useful.

The timer is 60 MINUTES, not seconds. When U use the summoning stone, you get a Summoning Sickness "buff" which prevents you from using another stone for 60 minutes.

Well, the game of the year update is especially handy in leveling a char in Pre if you want to do Legendary and it's not that expensive. The bow is especially good for pre characters. Also the imp would be good in pre.

Ok, it would be very slow (and very difficult since it would not be controllable like a pet or hero). But i still would like to know that ANet took this into account and prevented it from giving xp to the mobs. Because no matter how slow it is, if it is possible, someone is going to do it.
