"Follow Bots" in FA/JQ/AB
There seems to be a rash of these things I call 'follow bots' primarily in fort aspenwood and jade quarry, although I have seen them in ab as well. Last night was like the last straw, as there was a monk follow bot from eF which I thought was a well known pvp guild. These things will target whoever is first on the allies list and simply follow them around and do nothing else - they die at the same time, res, and continue to follow. They don't cast any spells or do anything, just follow the exact same path you take. I had fun getting the one following me killed, as it just stands there until it dies. Then it waited around at the res until I died, then continued to follow me. One other guy on my side saw the bot as soon as we entered the competition and reported him, saying that was the 3rd fight in a row he'd been stuck with that bot. I also reported him (I was the one it was following) and a couple other people did too.
Now, this thing is not a stationary bot, it IS moving, but it's a leeching bot that does nothing and gets loads of faction. Has anyone else noticed a rise in the amount of these things, and will it actually get banned (in other words, will they see that it was moving and decide it wasn't a bot, or will they realize that it did nothing and is in fact a bot) It's really frustrating to be sided with these things.

Hey at least they draw incoming fire away from you and NPCs =P lol
But yea, reporting doesn't really work because most people in the typical PuG team are too lazy to do it. Plus, the botter doesn't really care if he misses out on faction for one battle since he's not losing anything by botting (except electricity money but meh).
/report needs to have more severe consequences. If you get /reported by 1/3 (rounded up) or more of your team for 2 battles in a row, you lose all faction and cannot gain any for one day for each time this occurs.

Surely not. A member of eF going for the quick fix way to earn e-peen status by means of the allegiance titles? They all legitimately earned - and never paid for - their gold cape trims which they brandish oh-so-proudly so I can, therefore, conlude that their practices are honest.
I'm just jealous.
On topic: I'd report them for botting if the leeching part of the report feature is disabled because of movement. They'll get caught out sooner or later although it's still unfair to be disadvantaged in the mean time.

They're a well known scamming guild, a month or two ago every time I went to Kamaden someone started whining they were scammed by someone, always with a [eF] tag. If I'm correct the current owners bought the guild so the trim wasn't earned by the current scumbags.

No. :P eF is pretty much the laughing stock of the GW community.
Anyway, these bots are really annoying, but I don't see anet doing anything about them. There are still bots in FA, there are still bots in AB.

Question: do any legitimate players use the party hotkeys and/or the target nearest ally hotkey in low-level forms of PvP, such as FA/JQ/AB? If the answer to this question is a resounding "no", then ANet should try disabling those hotkey functions (not the hotkey itself; the function associated with that hotkey) for these modes. I understand that function is important for higher-end PvP, but for the faction-gain stuff, really who needs it?
This would stop the Follow bots. Granted, they would just move back to leeching at the start soon after, which is why I also suggest there be a severe faction-gain penalty (both Kurz/Lux AND Balth) for dishonorable leechers/botters when they are allowed back in. Really hit these bots where it hurts. Sitting out for a day or three when they can just come back and leech faction at a full rate once again (right away) isn't much of a penalty at all, to be honest.
My current qualm with FQ and JQ atm is that the wait times for getting into a match are starting to reach AB levels. In my opinion, while it's still more than before, the 'rebalanced' faction rate for playing & end reward for FA and JQ (and I guess AB too) aren't taking into account the average wait time (which means you sit there in the outpost counting down earning NO faction whatsoever). Don't balance it for those optimal times when you can get in almost right away (and faction gain is continuous). What about the poor joes who want to play for faction when they have to wait like 10 minutes just to get into ONE freakin' game? That's 10 minutes of 0 faction without being able to do anything else but wait, wait, wait.

Well when the "/report" function came out with "leeching" people figured they could run around and make it look like they're doing something and not get reported so the tards developed a bot to do this.. LOL people will come up with anything, next ban account wipe remove all these people who just wont ablide by the EULA... its so simple to follow the EULA..but this people just will never learn. Why'd they get the game in the first place? To play.....not make bots to play for them, to play the game and enjoy it.

I'd rather have them hit hard by this:
Botter: "Oh lemme go log in so i can leech"...
Guildwars: *loading gw*
Botter: *type in password*
Guildwars: *This account is banned due to a breach of the EULA*
Botter: "WHAT ACCOUNT BANNED?!?!?! WTF ANET OMG QQ WHY BAN ME"
That's what they deserve.
*Edited multiple times because i suck at typing and kept saving post.*

Yes, I use party hotkeys; especially for AB.

There is a big diffrence between leaching and botting. Botting requires programs that need to be install to work. leaching requires no programs to be installed. They way you can tell if someone is leeching is they will only follow the person on the top of the party list and not use any skills at all or pick any thing up. The way this is accomplished is an option in the windows OS called sticky keys it lets you repeatedly simulate the left or right click of the mouse. There is no program needed at all. Now with botters they use skills and pick up items because thats what the program is designed to do.
Leechers are useful for 2 things:
1. a meat shield
2. getting favor
sticky keys can also be used for afking drunkard title

Everyone in here can go sign the thread I started in sardelac. http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10335105
Basically if your dishonored and try to enter pvp again first time receive a warning saying if you continue to click to join pvp again it will add even more dishonor. Then bots will keep trying to join and thus never get back into the pvp once you report them once. This won't affect people negatively at all and should be easy to implement.
Hopefully a.net will actually care and implement it.

eF is epic.... fail. The guild was sold ages ago to some failure idiots who have since destroyed anything the guild ever was or stood for. Pity really...
As for the bots, give Gaile Gray a message on her wiki page regarding the issue. She can assign task forces to investigate and monitor JQ/FA for these bots. Remember, she isn't Community Relations Manager anymore, she is the support liaison (aka, she has more power now)

Yes. Please.
Dishonor points should stack with heavier punishment(ie.BAN) for consecutive dishonors.
That said I'm also tired of getting dishonor points for reporting the [email protected] simply because the rest of the team can't be bothered to report or can't understand english. Something really needs to be done about that.

There is a big problem with the whole reporting system, and that is that anyone can report anyone. That means if someone gets pissed off cause someone on there team sucks then that person can go and report that person. This was happening when the reporting system was first introduced people we getting reported for absolutely nothing but not being as good as everyone else. so basically if they would increase the punishment for dishonor more and more people will get banned for no reason and people with get other people banned for the fun of it.

Since the time report system was implemented, i've personally only had 2 Disconnects in AB. Not because /report, Obviously just because sometimes I'd get lagged out or something because of internet, etc etc... haha. Why is this a problem? Because BOTH times I reconnected, and saw the message saying that I have restored communication with the server (which means one saying i LOST communication popped up previously) i would see my reconnect message, and scroll up or just look up and see that I have been reported for Leeching. And then I will state that I have lagged out and did not deserve the /report. Then someone will say I deserve to be reported anyway for lagging out, wtf? Unfair system.
