I don't think they need to take the nerf bat to RoJ until they're prepared to fix a lot of other skills to keep the smiting option in play in the PvE meta.

I was reading threw this thread and saw this. I was like wow you read my mind. I totals agree with you they finely made a nessisary change that made smiteing an option for monks. Everyone who doesnt play a monk is comenting and qqing but what else does smite give as far as viability in PvE? 55 monking, 600/smite lol? I can finaly compete with an ele as far as aoe dps goes. Takeing roj away and not buffing any of the useless skills that made me rather healbot then smite would be stupid. If your going to make any kind of argument then changeing it to a pve/pvp skill doing less aoe damage or increasing recharge, I haven't given it much thought seeing as how doing that would even be pushing it. In pvp its so easy to interupt the only way it would be viable in pvp with either of those nerfs would be arcain echo and thats so easy to interupt as well. So thats y I think its useless to nerf it.

I am not sure, as I haven't played any to see how it effects things, but I fear some of the changes. The buff to some of the self heals is great for our use, but bad for dealing with monsters using them. I just member when they made an Off-Hand attack for the Assassin into a Lead Attack, and gave monsters no ability to use their Dual Attack. Got corrected eventually, but I'm not sure Anet ever considers the monsters skill use when they do these balances. In fact, I'm not sure they really even pay attention to what skills the monsters have. After all, the Divert Hexes boss is only reachable by Wurms, which means no hexes can be used on him...... lawl.

Making it cause AoE scatter isn't nerfing it, it's fixing it. Saying it shouldn't be fixed because it makes smiting monks viable is a pretty poor argument.

Another thing, I could never understand y anyone would want a healer other then a monk lol. I can understand Mesmer fastcast healers but monks outheal every class. You don't get the benefit of divine favor. Also energy shouldnt be an issue with a good monk given the sercimstances. GvG, HA, TA, and PvE I still think monks r best. Maybe I'm just not considering the fun factor haha.

It causes scatter if u cast 2 rojs on one target HM or NM.......and if they did that then y not fix cryer then to and all the other aoe skills that dont cause scatter, and how is makeing it viable not a good argument I would love to know seriously.....In my oppinion makeing the nerf to cause mobs to scatter was so stupid b/c of all the farming areas it made unfarmable, and that nerf was made b4 HM was implemented. Thats my oppinion. But what was the last good smiteing build air of enchantment smiter? How long ago was that? Yea..............

It should cause scatter if you cast one.
CoP and RoJ are two different types of AoE spells: CoP is a single AoE hit, RoJ is a DoT AoE. Generally single AoE hit spells do not cause scatter.
It's not a good argument because the whole argument is 'It shouldn't be fixed because it will be useless'. A skill shouldn't rely on a bug in order for it to be a viable skill, and a bugged skill needs to be fixed.
If ANet didn't implement AoE scatter, PvE would be more ridiculous than it currently is. Most teams would just use a tank and a shit load of AoE spells that would pretty much instantly wipe most mobs. It needed to happen.
And no, the AoE bar was not the last viable smite bar. Apparently you missed the horrible smiter's boon era.

no fix for RoJ...id say smiting monks are more then viable when they can clear shrines in AB/CM by themselves with 1 skill AND defend it. i think theres a phrase for that...over...over-doing-it...no thats not it..

I'm curious, sorry if I missed something...
Flail, Duration is 1sec at 0 Strength... Is this the PVP only skill, or is it the same in PVE? My PVE imbagon has just discovered Flail, I'd hate for it to be useless now...

There's no PvP version of Flail. It's supposed to be 1 second at 0 to limit it's usefulness to warrior primary only.

i wouldnt recommend [flail] on a paragon, even if it wasn't nerfed. it expends 1 adren every 5 seconds, which could have gone towards more useful things like [save yourselves]. just stick with [aggressive refrain] or even [soldier's fury] if you want to have some fun.

So how about that AT map rotation.... More fail, updating the details and all is cool, but no real programming is in effect.

I was really expecting to see VwK reverted back to its former PvE state.
Looks like it's another month without playing for me.

when the skill change says that it is addressing 4x4 problems does it means changes to pvp only or it both pvp and pve? like Wail of Doom.
