The Monument of Valor shows a duplicate of the dedicated weapon. They would need to create an image for each additional weapon/offhand that could be dedicated.
Too much work involved. Whatever they added would not satisfy everyone unless they added everything available in the game.

Okay, I had no idea I was going to hit on such a hot topic. Good post for and against. But what I’m getting at is basically, they can do more with the hall. Now I’m not a computer programmer or a coder but come on are you really going to sit there and tell me that it would be too much work to have your ded minis walk around their area like they do in town instead of just standing there? Would it be to much work to have your ded weapons turn in a 360 instead of just sitting there in the base? They have things the way they are for a certain reason; understood. They can’t add things because of what they’re doing with GW2 that too is understandable. I understand all of that but don’t sit there and tell me that they can’t work in the perimeters that they’ve already set up. Sometimes A-net’s refusal to think outside of the box scares me and makes me wonder about GW2.

the thing is this... Linsey said that they are looking for complete weapon sets.... the thing is... the value between tormented and destroyer weapons/items is HUGE. Makes no consistency or sense... they say they want full sets... then when you get all 11 types for your warrior or assassin.... how the hell are they to be utilized in a great way for a single profession... i hate customization on weapons... especially in HOM. i would love to just have broken sets, like celestial, zodiac, crystalline, obsidian edge, emerald, draconic... etc.. sucks. And this has been answered before by Linsey as well, but i freaking wish deldrimor armor was considered a set to be put in the HoM.

There's 2 people maintaining GW1. They have to prioritise what they work on. Regardless, they're working on some improvements to the HoM for the April update, so you never know?

I'm positive the account wide HoM will solve this.

What is this "account wide" HoM you speak of? I thought Regina or someone said they have no further plans to make anything else HoM related account based?
Thanks cubs! That's awesome news, wonder how it avoided me for so long.

"Each of your GW1 characters has its own Hall of Monuments. However, the rewards will be "unlocked" account-wide and will transfer to your GW2 account, and there are plans to allow a player to display all monuments attained on their account in GW1. Accomplishments dedicated in GW1's Hall of Monuments will continue to update your GW2 account even after GW2's release. " - Guild Wars Wiki

1. You have heroes that can use stuff your warrior/sin can't use. Also account wide HoM, which as been announced nearly a 9months ago, also solves this. Honestly if you don't know about the HoM change, you really are living in the dark. Of course alot of this stuff spouted here show most people do not read Linsey's talk page which has shot down alot of these ideas.
2.Deldrimor armor is not a compete set, some profession have only 3 armor pieces. Only weapons set that is complete that qualifies for the HoM is Deldrimor in proph. Also players control the value of tormented/destoyer weapons. In Anets eyes Destroyer weapons cost alot more than tormented because they removes direct gold from the economy, Gemsets don't add or remove gold to the economy.

This is a little off the subject, but I want to know exactly why people are saying that Celestial weapons are that "easy" to obtain.
I've been playing for over three years now and I'm still looking for a req. 9 gold Celestial Staff for my monk. Factions gold items don't have an inscription slot, so getting them with "perfect mods" is harder than ever. Also, magic user items often have screwed up mods on them, so you could get a Fire Magic staff that gives bonuses to Blood Magic or whatever.
If anything, I would say that Destroyer weapons are now the game's version of a huge joke. I'd like for anybody to come out and claim that any Destroyer weapon shows any form of prestige at all or deserves the title of an "elite" weapon. The rare materials are so heavily farmed that the gems sell for almost merchant price at the trader. Since any balanced H/H team can effectively make the trip to Slavers where the crafter is located, just about anybody that wants a Destroyer weapon can now afford one.

funny seeing how the zchest does not drop celestrial wands or staves. Also getting a q9 divine WITH the 20% to prot or healing is a very rare drop.

Or even in the Urgoz/Deep outpost.

Oooh, I hadn't thought of that, crafted weapons are kind of important in this context (I've never been one for chasing celestial, destroyer, or torment items so the thought didn't occur to me). You're right, and I suppose that would be why it's so much work, they'd have to create or implement a new, craftable, weapons set for Factions. Though I think I'd just take the easy way and make it so that there is a crafter for endgame weapons instead of only having unmodifiable greens.

Belladonna shylock kind of summed up an idea that I've had for a while. It's not The Hall of Storage, nor is it The Hall of Future GW2 items, it's the Hall of Monuments. A place dedicated to the memory of your characters (Yes, I know that sounds very melodramatic), it would be nice if there were more options to show stuff off.
I think that's the problem, however. The HoM is something that could always be tweaked, and always made better. There's never a point when they or we will look at it and say "Yep! that's perfect!"

There actually is a weaponsmith on the Divine Path already, though he only crafts a handful of generic weapons, which makes me wonder why he's even there. Changing him to do the same job as Grand Mason Stonecleaver in Droks -- crafting gold, inscribable versions of the endgame greens -- seems like a simple way out that does not require designing new skins.

I still say the lore aspect is more important than the e-peen aspect. It's supposed to be a monument to our character, so we should be able to put our character's weapons in it. I'm sick of Kurenai's Valor being a gaping hole in her otherwise mostly full HoM...
Also, that damned generic pet monument needs to go.
