Req 7 Max still drop but the areas that use to be farmed and had a decent chance for them are no longer farmed aka vermins. It is still possible to semi farm for them as I have said in the past. If you chest run the reed bog in normal mode every 5-10 inventories full of junk loot you will get one usually purple/gold that isn't perfect but is max dmg and req 7. The odds of actually getting a good one are very low.

It amuses me that multiple people keep saying max req7's still drop, even inscribable ones, and they claim to get one, but nobody can show a screenshot of one dropping with a Nightfall or EotN skill in their bar, or even a hero in their party, or in the case of inscribable, a screenshot period.
Until proven otherwise, I'm sticking with req8 being as low as you can go. Even if it's purple req7 max with some awful inherent mod like 17v50, I'd accept that as proof.

Gaile's "confirmation" was vague. The only thing they confirmed was that req 7's still drop. NO information if they could be max, inscribable etc.

It was only vague for those that have no ability for comprehesion.

I think it's cool that they drop, and I guess over time, the odds improve that one will be offered for sale or trade. Well, it may be unless the person who gets the drop values having it over selling it, of course. If I got one, I don't think I'd ever part with it!

What would be a better way to show screenshots then? Imho there's no better way, anything else could still be called a shop.
BTW I still got the full screenshot this one got cropped from.

That's completely untrue. The drop generation code was changed globally, increasing the minimum allowed req for max items from 8 to 9. Max req7s before and req8s after update are just aberrations in the stat generation code that appear on a very slight edge of possibility under specific conditions.
Also, the same code is used to generate base stats of all weapons - common (white/blue), uncommon (purple), and rare (gold), and the connection between req and stats is the same for them. It means that... you may not believe... that max req7 cannot drop even as a common white!

First, Gaile confirmed they still drop when she was asked. The second is I have seen them drop in this area from mass amounts of chest running. The third you seem to claim you know the drop code as if you work for anet, but in reality even if you program such as myself the generation code is kept server-side. It is not possible to know that in depth about the drop code based on what they have stated publicly. I suppose I may have to go do some lucky point farming to prove the area. I will make sure I have at least one EOTN skill on my bar so that it can be shown it is at least post eotn release.

If you say you've really seen more than one drop from maguuma chests I take the challenge - I will run hundreds of them to find and screenshot first confirmed max req7 to have dropped for 2.5 years. Screenshot will include EotN skills, EotN items equipped and in inventory, and /age on chat showing 47 months. But I'm 99,99% sure I won't get one, but at least will get some lucky/unlucky points and screenshot any max req.8s dropped.

What amuses me is that some people here still shout that the items don't drop.
While a official talks to a designer who specializes in items and get's a solid confirm from him that they do drop with the quote:
"they are super rare."
And the whole "post screenshot or else it untrue" theory is crap aswell.
less then 4% of all players in Guild Wars come to this forum. And most of them are unactive in the game and spend more time on this forum then actually ingame.
You think if someone is that lucky to get the drop that he or she is even aware what just dropped for them? That they make a screenshot of every drop they get? And besides proven drops were always linked to Prophecies and Faction's witch are the least played area's atm in the game since people play alot in EoTN or other end-game area's(UW/FOW/DoA etc).
Most of us just will have to accept that we will never actually see an item like that drop before us ... simple as that.

There will be no proof, some people just want to believe it's still possible even when all theory and practice is against them.
People - watch your drops, look at the crappy whites/blues you get, they all use the same generation algorithms - if you get a max req7 WHITE drop it means a GOLD one is also still possible. Screenshot the max white req7 on the ground while still assigned to a player = proof.
I've watched the crappy drops back in 2005 and kept doing it after the nerf at NF release - It was the only real observable change to the drop system and the differences were clearly visible and affected drops in all continents.

Huh... a req 7/8 thread that has as much information as the last one. That is to say, not much information at all. Closed for pointlessness and endless bickering.
