probably just an "oops" moment by anet. Yeah they probably should have stuck an announcement on the login but i don't see it getting extended or redone.
p.s has this thread been cleaned up? I see some complaints about anti muslim posts but for the life of me can't see any.

I can't remember the last time that ANet just didn't have a weekend event at all, for any reason. You could have just looked around for info on what the event might be.
I don't see this event being extended, for a number of reasons.

My thoughts exactly. In the 2 (?) years of weekend events, there has NEVER not been a weekend event, and there has NEVER not been an announcement on the log in screen.
If these weekends are so dear to you (not targeted at op in particular), you could've done some research as soon you noticed no login announcement on Tuesday, Wednesday.
Just a slip up on Anet's part.

In game event needs in game announcement.
"We" does not extend to the much larger population of the game community who do not read forums or wikis.

They're not going to do a "redux" of this weekend. There's already another big event drop weekend two weeks from now for the GW 4th year anniversary. Somehow I doubt they're going to do Easter weekend this time, a redux next weekend, and then 4th year anniversary drops (which will be longer than the weekend).

Agreed. Who cares what the reason is for why he didn't know it was Easter? As someone else pointed out, he could just as easily have been a new GW player who didn't know about Easter events in years past.
There should be a redux. Many people don't follow the forums or wikis and they should have been informed. Guru is not representative of the community.

If Walmart were giving away free Easter bunny chocolates and they weren't obvious about it, you'd all be pretty pissed that they didn't make an announcement about it.

I honestly don't think I would care about it one bit.
I'm so happy that every new thread here is someone QQing about one minute detail or another that they don't like.

lol. I wouldn't care in the slightest.
Now, if I did care, and Walmart had advertised and given them out the past few years, I probably would take it upon myself to find out if they were doing it again this year if I didn't see any advertising. If I did care.

Not really.. I'm sure someone would tell me... That and well, it kinda depends how many chocolate bunnies.. Cause if it was like.. one per person, that's not even really worth the drive to one.
Kind of strange to compare farming to a real life scenario like a Walmart giveaway.. How would you compare that?
Humm..
Have to walk around the store mindlessly and every so often an employee will randomly pop up and give you a chocolate bunny maybe? lol :P

I was a bit suprised there was no announcement. It could have just been someone forgetting. Plus, many players just skip the login screen anyways.

Usually I wouldn't be fussed, but I dont see how Anet can just forget/ignore/skip one announcement so easily. I mean it's obvious it would be an Easter weekend (for most people) but my guild was mainly confused about the time. Would it start on Thursday noon instead of Friday noon because of Good Friday? Would it end at 11.59pm Monday, instead of 11.59pm Sunday because of Easter Monday?
